Watches - another OCD problem

Lange dips its toe into the stainless sports watch fray.

Perhaps it's not their most original work, but they figured out a way to make it their own:
Internally, as to be expected, she's a thing of beauty:

I love the dial, the movement, and the case but the bracelet fits the lugs like an afterthought. I know it’s intentional but the small lugs and a wide bracelet look really odd….

Bracelet is hideous, though nicely finished.

Speaking of disappointing bracelets, the brand that seems to get ripped on that the most has produced IMO one of their most beautiful pieces:

My favourite Grand Seiko dial at the moment is on the Godzilla special edition. Plus I prefer straps to bracelets.
The only branding is everyone's favourite Kaiju stomping on the Seiko building on the back.
More at Hodinkee.
As for the Lange Odysseus, I think that the bracelet looks a lot better on the wrist, such as in this video from Monochrome.
I'd prefer it if they'd gone for a mille mailles style mesh bracelet, like on this Blancpain, or maybe a simpler design such as used on the Zenith Defy a few posts up.

I just received this and love it so much I had to show it off. It's hard to see in photographs but the watches on the box lid are all done with marquetry (not painted or printed) even the hands and hour markers are all seperate pieces of different types of wood (some of which is stained' obviously). The watches are all Facsimiles of my actual watches (chosen mostly for their aesthetic appeal, different colours and shapes etc.). There is a Salvador Dali-esque touch with the watches running down the sides of the box. The box holds 24 watches and there is a drawer in the bottom to hold spare straps and tools etc. I asked for some of the times and date windows to display significant dates to me, so 30 minutes past 5 is meant to represent 30th may and 17 minutes past 11 is 17th November etc. The box took about 8 months to make but it was worth the wait. it was made by Mike at Thistle Marquetry: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ThistleMarquetry

This one is fantastic.

You did say you prefer straps, so that's not a surprising position to take, but since I love a mesh/Milanese type bracelet, I prefer the previously pictured Blancpain.
-
Since I'm not in Blancpain territory, I'll have to settle for a more budget friendly variation, I guess.
-
No, that is definitely not what I'd buy…
And I have to say, remarkably outside the norm for Patek, which is generally quite tasteful.
-
Ah, I know that feeling…
There are some aspects of it that I like, but to me, the whole is definitely less than the sum of the parts.

This is my Mido Iconè.
With ETA 80 Si.
Accuracy is impressive I never owned a more accurate mechanical watch.
Price-Performance-Ratio is perfect IMO
