Do you have any insight into what the rift was between him and Rogers? This would have been a good day for them to win, with The Bears,Lions, and Vikings all losing.
It certainly would've been a great day for a win.
While, I'd love to give a definitive answer, as to what the rift was, I really can't be certain.
My perspective… McCarthy had been here for 13 years. In that time, the offensive scheme never really changed. By now, defensive coordinators had caught up, and no significant changes were being implemented.
Combine that with the fact, Rodgers is getting older, and not quite as nimble as he used to be. I think, he has been looking for some creativity out of the offense, to confuse defenses, and save him from some of the abuse and injuries he's been taking, over the past couple of seasons. While, Rodgers never came out and said it, on a number of occasions he eluded to it in interviews, in a roundabout way. While this was going on, there have been other players making decisions, in game, that were made against coaches instructions. Ty Montgomery's decision to bring the ball out of the end zone against the Rams comes to mind.
In the end, I believe management thought McCarthy had lost control of the team.

I just can't believe the Cardinals actually won

Pick Baltimore, give the Pats a chance!
-
We called him sCam Newton when he played at Auburn, as he was embroiled in a pay for play scandal when he wasn't stealing laptops.
-
Baltimore looks like the team this year
-
Haven't the Pats had enough chances, already ? ::)
I would agree but for being from New England.

Not going to say I saw this coming, but when they were doing the player introductions with all the stuff and the guy ran out carrying some kind of shield my wife and I looked at each other and she said to me they’re gonna get beat. Sometimes when a team wraps up the #1 seed they underestimate the competition. Maybe that happened tonight to the Ravens.

Baltimore must have missed the Pats game last week ::) So much for my Ravens pick

Well, the Packers shit the bed. Again ! Twice against the 49ers, this season, they dug themselves a first half hole they couldn't crawl out of. You can't do that against great teams, and hope to come back. This season has given me hope for the near future, though.
It ought to be a great Superbowl. I'm picking the Chiefs, though. As good as the 9ers defense is, they took losses to the Ravens and Seahawks, and nearly lost to the hawks a second time, in the season finale. Lamar Jackson, and Russell Wilson have given them fits. Neither of those guys have the arsenal Mahomes has, and he's just as dangerous, if not more so, than those two.
