I gave my shares back to my business partner and he decided to pursue full time military and closed the doors.
I have a CF gym in my garage, but with twin 4 year olds at home, leaving is the only way to “guarantee” a workout. I still do 2-3 WODs with my wife each week usually, but nothing as cool or fun as at an actual affiliate.
Yes, it’s quite a pretty place! Our house is about 1000m from the Bay as well, so I’ll be sure to give some updates from dog walks

Day 2 in the OD Lefty was filled with fun - we took the kiddos and explored one of the sections of nature trails north of Seagrove Beach - maybe more easily thought of as the Watercolor area.
Started off by heading to the gym, and then coming home and making breakfast. Saturdays allow me to be a bit more creative
After cooking, we hung out and watched cartoons - Avery being goofy!
We went and explored the nature trails - which was both a both, and “testing” experience for the kiddos, but they handled a 3 mile trek like champs!

…...01.04.2020 continued
After our hiking adventure we went out to eat with my father in law - they were out of the wings we like (smoked chicken wings) so I promised the wife to make some at homes... mine were far superior to any other wing available!
Enjoyed this awesome DIPA from @DK
Made princess dress figurines with Avery
Fit pic!
Finished the night off relaxing to one of my favorite records - really for no reason other than nostalgia, and it being the soundtrack to a lot of my adolescent learnings:
Hope everyone had a great Saturday!!

When we moved into our house, we made the concession of taking on a reno project for a fraction of the cost of new construction in order to be in the neighborhood we wanted.
Luckily, I have been able to do nearly all the work myself aside from building new white oak stair treads, and shaping/installing new countertops.
Here is a little taste of the “before”
I didn’t even bother taking photos of the brown carpet they used throughout, including on the stairs, but here are some updated pics of everything I have done, including building a new (larger) kitchen island:
I tore out all the carpet and installed greycast oak laminate (the quote for real wood for the remainder of the house was unreal!), and did have the stairs redone by a professional (who did a knock out job)
I also added some industrial flair with a cool steel cable system in the loft (4 years olds and open loft spaces are not ideal) and a big fan
Here is the exterior - we will be painting it white later this year, and we trimmed back all the plants we put in when we redid the beds for the winter - they call these “raised Florida cottages”
My favorite feature - my island [emoji7]
We had a busy day cutting down trees, so more updates to follow after my meetings this AM

@Giles - seriously!!! It was a total waste and didn’t match up to the other edges which totally bothered me - all fixed and clean now!
01.05.2020 continued…
So we had a tree in the lot next to ours (undeveloped) scraping our metal roof during storms and making a terrible noise - after a crazy quote from a tree company to remove the tree, we decided to just fix the problem ourselves...
Off to Home Depot we went!
But first, coffee:
White coffee was brewing, let the little man strum away on the vintage acoustic
Snagged me a ladder!
Started cleaning the area a bit
ACTION SHOT in some ancient SRs
RESULT
And more carnage for the big magnolia in our backyard
Earned some lunch - my version of a Power bowl, done keto style with spinach, smoked sausage, and an egg with sesame.
Felt like I earned this lol
Cleaned up and enjoyed rockin on the porch while the wife ran an errand with the kiddos
Started the grill to do some meal prep of chicken

01.05.2020 again lol
Not sure why the twins will only consume chicken if it’s in the shape of a Dinosaur, but c’est la vie
Enjoyed a nice cocktail on the porch
I got this smoking thing down
Little dude woke up from a nap And enjoyed some pizza and scooby doo - if only my nights were as easy going!
Then I made a cheesy smoked chicken bake for the wife and I for dinner
After dinner, ran out for some Keto Ice Cream [emoji509]
That about wraps it up for yesterday!
Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Great updates and pictures. I am now looking at green eggs online again after seeing your chicken. Large or Xl?
Or just get your usual IH size? -
It's interesting to me that the denim seems to evolve like a black denim. There's very little blue, if any at all, right?
There is an indigo tinge to the white and grey areas, but much less so with the overdyed 19oz than with the overdyed 21oz, which goes from black, to blue/black, to indigo, the grey/white. Irl it feels and looks very different that SBG, for example.
I'm convinced the reason for this is the nature of the 19oz donor denim. Firstly it is very dark indigo in it's original form, so the difference in colour post-overdying, from a distance at least, isn't large.
Secondly, and most importantly, when the 19oz fades it does so with high contrast, going straight to white at high abrasion points. I wore my indigo 19oz while preparing a graveled area for some concrete work during the summer and in the course of one days work the knees went from deeply dyed, new indigo to white. so with the jacket the overdying pigment and the indigo come out together.
I suspect that if this overdyed material received more genteel treatment than this jacket has had, then more indigo would show. But @spitfiredealer and @steelworker have kicked the crap out of it. If you take it for another round, you'll be amazed by the difference.

Or just get your usual IH size? [emoji1786]I actually have a medium - it’s perfect for our family, but when the kids turn into carnivores, a large will be necessary. I can still cook 5-8lbs briskets no problem.

Yesterday was the first official “full week” back to work for me since the holidays and the start of a new semester with the kiddos.
Started off with my normal 5am workout - Was feeling achy, so stuck to 30 minutes of cardio and core work
Seeing as I had my first big team meeting in almost a month, I dropped the IH Vest on ‘em
Threw on the Lefty and took the kiddos to school
I have three offices that I conduct business out of, and none of them really have dedicated space for me, so I’m usually loading down float space
I did manage to break one of our blenders in the AM and after 3 months of cursing that bastard out everyday, my wife told me to go ahead and order this bad boy - very excited!
My lunches are usually salads with olives, feta, an oil based dressing and leftover meats. Today was smoked chicken
BONUS PIC: Katie Higgins in the first female Blue Angel pilot of “Fat Albert.” Our dads were stationed in California together and our moms were quite the friends on base. Here is a random picture of her and I at my 2nd Birthday
After a disaster trying to get the twins to eat, I fixed us some strip steaks and green beans
One of my co-workers gave me these amazing fresh lemons from her tree, so I did what was obvious
Had Avery do a fit check on the lefty… as imagined - she should go TTS
That concludes our Monday!!
Cheers everyone,
Adam
