Southern pine beetles have destroyed much of the pitch pine forest here. Beetles lay eggs under the bark and larvae tunnel through the phloem, girdling the tree. Beetles are devastating Jersey pine barrens and pitch pines north to Cape Cod and New York. They were kept in check by cold winter temps but warming winters have allowed them to extend their range.
Southerners ruin everything.

I only have it in Norwegian, buddy. I’ve just thought about how to translate it and it’s an hour or two’s work. I just don’t have the time I’m afraid.

@steelworker Beautiful place! I imagine you see wild turkeys on occasion there. Are you located in Eastern PA, around Hershey or central?
Grew up in WV, hence the questions? Reminds me of home.

And yes, wild turkeys ,pheasant, here's a crap photo of a blue heron in flight. I never saw the wader at bottom until I threw the pic online. ::)-
