IHSH-62-BLK - 12oz Wabash Western Shirt - Black

the German customs are renowned for being up there with the worst in the world….
can confirm, receiving care packages from family back in the states can be a problem sometimes.
Germans do have a "thing" for paperwork. -
800 import threshold?
Wow, that’s great! I think the threshold for Germany is 50 Euros or so for VAT and 150 for customs…Threshold for ordering from US in The Netherlands is 20EUR, both VAT and customs. ::)

Wow, that was lightning fast delivery! If these pics load, the curl can be seen in one of them. For me it adds to the character and keeps it from being too, too long(?)
This shirt is glorious. Stiffer than I imagined, which I like a lot. I was thinking it would be supple, like my UHFs, but it is more like a denim really. I love how the wabash dots are a cream brown.
I’m wondering if there’s enough fabric for me to go with a medium with my next purchase (might be the indigo version of this shirt upon restock), as I’ve lost a lot of weight and am still trying to figure out my sizing… anyone got any advice on whether I could size down? I’m 5’10.5” 163 lbs 18” shoulders, 41” chest (in case there’s someone with a similar build). I will stick with this one and see what happens in the wash, once it needs it.
Definitely an unparalleled buying experience, I’m still dumbfounded at how fast this got here.
Edit: Ghah! Why are my pics farging sideways!?

First things first, congrats. I love IH wabash and while I don’t have the black version if this shirt (yet), I have a lot of items, (vests, shirts, trousers) in both indigo, black and white.
The stiffness subsides with wear and washing, but only slowly, the heaviness remains. The fabric is a twill weave just like denim is.
As for sizing, it looks good. The sleeve and body length and all appear to be where they should be. It is maybe a little on the roomy side, but I feel like an M would be too small for you. The good news is that this shirt will shrink on warmer temps. You can get a lot of shrinkage out of it on very high temps, if you like. If that is of interest then let me know and I’ll advise you on my tried and tested methods [emoji1]

Thanks! I read your shrink test, which makes me think the indigo version will work once restocked. I’ll just bide my time and obsessively go back and forth between the work shirt vs the western until then Thanks for the guidance!

…any chance of 4XL being included in the next restock of these?

Sweet [emoji41] count me in for a 4XL[emoji3516]

Figured I’d pop by and post some update pics after receiving my exchange from the large to the medium. I probably could’ve washed the large in hot and gotten a perfect fit, but I was worried about fading the black prematurely, and felt a bit “swimmy” with the extra fabric. Overall, I’m really happy with the fit. I’ll just have to be judicious with my cold hand wash/hang dry routine, I’m sure. Thank you to the IH team for everything!

It looks like it's quite tough…
It’s rugged af. More so than the IHSH-218. I don’t know if I’d consider a shirt to have a breaking in period but it takes some wearing and washing before it approaches anything like “soft”. Happily it looks great on, straight from the get-go.

Possibly my next purchase.
You can’t go wrong mate. For some reason the cut of the ‘62’s is even better than the IH standard western cut. The shoulders are a tad wider but they taper toward the waist even more.
I am going to row back a tiny bit on my previous comment as I only just noticed we are talking about the -BLK and not the -IND. The sulphur dying on the black Wabash takes a little more out of the fabric, so the indigo version is possibly the more rugged. However they are both beasts.

Ooh cool, good to know! Have you had any clothes made from the black material? Wondering if it attracts fluff/hair as black clothing often can. I've got a white cat and he does like to she'd his fluff
