Just out of interest: at which step is it used and why is it used?
I misread it at first, but I think Giles is saying that no formaldehyde is used in producing IH jeans

How and why are you always top of the list of people Strava suggests I follow?
-
Ha!
At least you two have actually met. Odd.

Here is @Madame Buttonfly 's last lawn mow…..
-
Striped to perfection.
-
@Streetwise Hercules - as you can see, our lawn is a disaster!
I love the fact that it shows me having gone awry with the mower going across the pond, through the wall into next door's garden and even into our house! Somehow I don't think the Strava developers had lawn mowing tracking in mind, but it is fun.

It’s unreliable technology @Madame Buttonfly
I mountain bike locally with a few buddies and it’s as if the app can’t draw straight towards the end of a ride. It’s always the last few miles between The Greyhound in Aldbury and home. -
Yep, I couldn't agree with you more @Streetwise Hercules - totally unreliable/inaccurate. I'd only had a few
bottlesglasses of prosecco before mowing the lawn… -
i'm more interested in how you walked over the pond. gotta teach us all a trick or two..

As I've worn my 666s-142 more recently and washed them for the first time I've noticed a horizontal crease going across one of the thighs. At first I thought it was a crease from washing but after soaking the thigh and even trying to iron it out it hasn't gone away. This line is visible on both sides and you can feel it on the weft side.
Any idea what this is? I've never seen anything like it.

It looks like a crease from washing. It’s happened to me before even when machine washing on the gentle cycle and no spin. It should become less noticeable with wear.
How did you wash them?

It looks like an "imperfection" in the denim. The loom probably had some sort of hiccup. With the old shuttle looms that sort of thing happens e.g. a warp breaks, the loom has to be stopped to mend the warp and when restarted the loom takes a little time to get up to full speed. I can't tell how bad it is from the photo, it may have been missed at QC or it was felt that it was OK to pass. Does it bother you?

Coincidentally I just saw that someone posted a pair of Rogue Territory jeans on Reddit with a similar but more severe defect.
If it's going to look like this down the road it will definitely bug me. From your experience if you think it will look more or less normal down the road I can live with it. It's interesting that it took about a month of wear for me to notice it, because to be honest I like to look at my jeans every day and observe how they evolve.
