The Iron Heart Forum Triangle of Terror Type III Trucker Tour 2018 - Updates thread

Tomorrow is the last day of my second round.
Jacket is washed and drying (expecting two days) at the moment.Today I had the chance to visit one of my favorite record shops.
Was focused on singles!
This is the result of 30minutes.
My faves are laying on the inside of the jacket !!PIL and Minor Thread on the left and Kraftwerk and Fehlfarben on the right.
This was drawn a few years earlier than the following film…..

@Aetas is quite a guy. Not only was his second leg with the tour jacket very entertaining and creative he chooses great shipping and is a ninja when it comes to efficient, safe, packing, and even smuggling. Norwegian customs have let the rather large box with the jacket through customs, toll free, and clearly didn’t notice the rather lovely, big bottle of beer it contained.
Not only was there great beer but there was also a Borussia Dortmund t-shirt (current LFC manager Klopp’s last club), and a big bag of sweets. I’m sure @Aetas meant for me to have it all, but the tee will be a little small, and I will generously allow my children to have the sweets [emoji1]
Thank you, so much buddy. That was great fun to unpack.

As for my leg, we are taking a break from the schedule so the jacket can spend a summer in the cooler climate of Norway.
On Tuesday, I will be packing up half the family and starting 1000km drive over half the length of the country between my home town of Bodø and the village of Stordal, near Ålesund. Hot Ingrid and I will have our two smallest boys with us and we’ll use three days to make the journey, stopping for some summer fun on the way. We will then spend five days in Stordal visiting my mother in law’s family, hopefully doing some fishing and hiking too. We will then use three days to travel back.
The jacket will be coming along for the ride and I hope to take you all along with me, at least virtually.
I’ll be keeping hold of the jacket until the end of August, when, global warming allowing, I’ll pack it off to the next honorable tourist as Autumn approaches.

They are not his helpers, they are his trusted lieutenants and commanders.

Wee Saturday update… Hot Ingrid needed to pack for out trip, so I got out of the house with the smalls. I’m having separation angst about leaving my new 22oz jacket so I wore that instead of the tour jacket today...
Hanging out with the little ones on playground duty is a pleasure….
I’m going to try and get better at doing @Appfaff style updates like an illustrated diary, but I have to remember to take some photo’s. That didn’t happen today so please imagine the following after the morning trip to the playground:
-
prepped the car for the journey by checking tires, filling up on engine oil and wiper fluid etc
-
watched the footie and drank some Beer
-
made a chick pea and tomato bhuna
And now for some old school gaming. They don’t make them like this anymore…
Also Fast Eddie predictably loves the box the jacket arrived in. Again @Aetas you’re a kind and thoughtful genius [emoji1]

Update for yesterday…
Continued prep for the driving holiday. That means me taking the kids out to the playground so Hot Ingrid can do her prep followed by me trying to do my prep while still looking after the kids. Also, if you all like pics of me wearing Iron Heart in a wide variety Norway’s many, many playgrounds you’re going to love this leg...
Things I did but didn’t take pics of (mental imagining skills turned up to 11)
- prepared my fishing kit
- washed some jeans to take on holiday (those that still fit, bread making+ lockdown = 4kg apparently)
- washed dogshit off (and out of), a pair of children’s Crocs. If you thought Crocs were bad enough they are also grade A, premium turd catchers
Otherwise my efforts to document my everyday in picture form are best summed up like this:
There was some respite in the form of this absolutely stunning bottle of beer:
And a bit of Biga prep for today’s pizza party.

great shots Reuben Always nice to see the scenery in your neck of the woods.
"If you thought Crocs were bad enough they are also grade A, premium turd catchers"
Little known fact–-they also work well as Spaghetti strainers in a pinch.

More scenery over the next couple of weeks…
As for the Crocs, I’ll try to remember which one was covered in shit, and use the other for food prep.
