The Iron Heart Forum Triangle of Terror Type III Trucker Tour 2018 - Updates thread

WOW! Dudes! Incredible evo! So cool, to have so many lifestyles imparted on one jacket. Well done

So it turns out this thread was started on 24.12.2017. It seems appropriate that just before xmas, @Giles @Alex and myself put our heads together and decided that all good things must come to an end, and that the end for this tour is now.
While there is life in the jacket yet, and life in you guys too… rather than adding a leg here and a leg there, depending on who was able to, who wanted to, and who had the climate that allowed for it, we decided we should retire this beautiful peice of clothing with the dignity it, and your efforts the last three years, deserves.
Three years though! The jacket has crossed the Atlantic many times, been all around the USA, from coast to coast and border to border (if my geography and knowledge of forum members home states serves). It has been shuttled around the UK and Germany and enjoyed quality time above the arctic circle, and it looks awesome.
As for what to do with the jacket, it was forum funded. All tour members contributed a small portion of the cost (including Giles and Alex). As such it is forum owned. Giles, Alex and I felt that the most appropriate course of action was for IHUK to "buy" the jacket through a donation to a charity of their choice (@Giles can provide details of that at his lesuire). It will live out its days at IHUK in Gosport. @Alex has plans for showing it off in a manner befitting, again, he can update us on that when it is sorted out.
I'd like to thank everyone who has been involved with this tour and this thread. Three years and 1231 posts is pretty great, but the photos and accounts that you have all contributed of where and how you live are what this tour was all about, and there is some fantastic content here. Well done everyone, you're all a credit to this place.

Thank you, everyone, who was involved with this and thank you, Reuben, for herding cats
We will sort out a charitable donation shortly.
Events slightly took over our lives towards the end of last year and we have not sorted out any of our annual charitable donations yet. I will sit down with @Madame Buttonfly and @Alex and sort it all out shortly.
Thanks again.

@Aetas It’s been a while hasn’t it.
What’s going on with the mad red?
But whatevs… we should try another one. @Giles @goosehd @Alex what about those slightly fucked deerskin shirts I saw in G’port in November? I’m down to organise a tour if you guys fancy donating one. Should be a great item to trash.

Deerskin or Wabash Chore… I was hoping you will answer. I can help as far as possible to make another tour happen!

I am so very torn on this. For one, I miss these projects, the pictures, and the camaraderie of sharing stories and the item around the world. The other half of me is disappointed in the last few rounds of the Mad Red. The item hasn't and isn't being shared the way it's supposed to be. As a non participant I have held back, but I am also hesitant to recommend or support other items being shipped around the world without the effort that is supposed to being going into the tours.
There have be some excellent tours, pictures, and stories in the past. I believe that whomever signs up should realize the expectations of taking these items for the month that they are to wear and share them.

If we were doing a jacket, my vote would be a wabby chore
