Where does everyone live?

Hello from Northern Germany,
I discovered the IH store in Hamburg in late summer kind of accidentally - we were on our way from the parking lot to another store, never knew it was there. Went in, saw a lot of nice things, tried an IHSH-261 but couldn't pull the trigger for a >300€ shirt at that time. Coming from brands like Pike Brothers, it was still quite a hike. But it stuck in my head..
Fast forward to January: My SO got me the 62-IND for my birthday. And. I. love it. The fabric, the build quality, the fit - it really is has different feel to it.
And that shirt flipped the switch - I gotta have the 261-BLK I tried in summer. But at that point I learned: Want a specific shirt? Buy it quick! Of course it was sold out everywhere..
I went on with my search for either a 261 or a 270. I still like the western cut a bit more - especially because of the snap buttons - but the 270 is a beautiful shirt, too. I managed to find one last 270-BLK in my size (XXL) in the whole wide internet. As it happens, that shirt was in Australia (Corlection). Anyone familiar with German customs and taxes for importing..? But I bought it anyway. It currently is on it's way to me and I'm eager for it's arrival (hopefully next week). So, that is my fairly short history with IH, but I'm looking forward for the years to come. I already put a bunch of items on my list, that I will eventually get:
IH-634S
IHSH-33-T or IHSH-33-Black
IHSH-62-BLK
IHSH-276-INDI don't think, that list tends to get shorter..
I'm more of a reader than a poster, but at least I wanted to say hello to the fine people in this forum. Have enjoyed reading in here for the last days and will continue to do so.
Cheers & stay healthy

TimHi Tim, thanks for the great first post.
I think your story will be familiar to a lot of people! I also think German customs are famous around this forum [emoji1]

Beatiful first post @Deichvogt
Klingt alles sehr bekannt ;)! -
Good luck, you'll need it. German Customs are a hot competitor for the very worst in the world. The hassle and cost I already had with them… Greedy bastards.
I had a parcel from Belgium, thus within the EU, "opened and resealed by German Customs". They didn't find anything to object or, better still, charge me for, but still, I found it enraging that now even within EU shipments are being made subject to their prying, malevolent hands.
If you can't provide them with convincing documentation on what you paid, they will research the web for the highest price they can use for their excise calculations. Happened to me more than once. (Imagine repeated and increased insult towards them here).
So again, good luck. And enjoy the shirt once you get it. -
As long as it's within the EU, you're fine. Otherwise, hope for less unkind customs officers than the motherf*****s here in Berlin.

Hello from Northern Germany,

[…]Just a little heads-up here: The shirt arrived last week. All went buttery smooth, no problems with Customs at all - quite the opposite. Compliment to Corlection in Australia for superb service
The shirt itself is magnificent, as expected. Shame that our temperatures rose from -15°C to +17°C within one week..it get's a little warm inside the UHF. But situation could be worse

Excellent news. Remember that the shirt will last you years so there will be plenty of cold seasons to come [emoji1]

Hello everyone I am checking in from Portland Oregon.
I’m fairly new to the heavy weight denim world. My first purchase was back in October 2020. I picked up the 21oz 888 sbg. Hands down my favorite pair of jeans I own. I have worn them every day. Until I pulled the trigger on the 25oz 555 xhsbb. So I have two jeans in rotation now.
IH customer service is hands down the best. This community has a wealth of knowledge. Reading all the treads really helped me out.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi all! Coming in from the PNW same as the last poster. Brand new to raw and/or selvage denim so looking to learn a lot from everyone here! Working on building up a wardrobe of durable and traditionally made clothes and accessories. Recently got some White’s MP boots in brown Chromexcel (which are incredible) and thought I’d try to find its equivalent in jeans. Found my way to IH and am excited to order my first pair in the next few weeks!
