Thanks man, I appreciate it. The thing I love about this thing is that it gives you plenty of options. Shirt/over shirt/work shirt/jacket depending on what you're feeling that day. I think it looks great with a flannel underneath.

Guys, you can find one of the last XL here: https://ironheartgermany.com/products/ihsh-177-18oz-selvedge-denim-cpo-shirt-indigo
Be fast or be last!

It's been a few months since I updated so thought I'd get a quick shot today, whilst out walking with the family. It's been pretty flipping cold here and snowing again today. The shirt holds up well against the weather though. I'm starting to get some decent Evo on the arms, though perhaps doesn't show very well in the picture. It's probably had 4 months solid wear. No washes yet - holding off on that until at least April at which point I will assess how it's looking. Hope everyone is well in these difficult times.

That’s coming on well @Rusted … you’ve reminded me to wear mine a bit more to get mine looking a bit more like yours

Thanks @Baba-san it's taken some time to achieve, but I think the results make it worthwhile. I'm interested to see how it looks after a good wash.
Great looking shirt, and the wash will only make the evolution pop more. The heavy CPO's develop beautiful elbow fades, which is only acclerated by layering them.

Is this the right fit? I'm 6' 190lbs. And this is a xxl. In some angles the shoulders are just slightly too big. Is this meant to be a jacket or shirt. I recently bought also bought a ironheart mil Serge shirt, also xxl. I can literally wear both at the same time, or wear a sweater underneath. That IS the intention right?

The short answer is yes it looks right, yes it is intended for layering.
They are fondly referred to as «shackets» and can function as both jackets, overshirts and shirts. They are cut a little wider in the shoulders and waist and a little longer in the body and arms than westerns, so you can layer under them. They are generally made of heavier denim. Some folks size down to wear as a heavy shirt with pockets.
They are inspired by CPO shirts from the mod 20th century. The CPO (Chief Petty Officer) shirt was originally intended to throw over a uniform when the CPO was on his way put on deck.

The way that one looks on you is about how I like my shirts to fit. It looks great!
I'm probably more of a Large in most IH shirts, but find myself getting XL or XXL just because I like a little more room to move around. I spent most of the last decade and a half wearing very tailored and slim fitting clothing, and with quarantine life and casual work from home most of last year, I just don't feel like wearing any slim fitting stuff again and prefer looser fitting everything. I've been purging all kinds of stuff from the closet.
If it works for you and feels right, it IS right!

I have the over-dyed version and typically wear it over another work or western shirt, or over a waffle shirt or hoodie.

What they said ^ and to add, I have two CPOs, one is 11.5oz denim that is more fitted as an XL and one that I got yesterday in the mail that is a 17oz duck at XXL for an over shirt. Yours being an 18oz imo would serve better as an over shirt/shacket.
