IHTB-BRDOLV: My single Wesco pair, jobmaster in olive burlap and brown domain. Scarred and dusty from corral duty. Burlap is a supremely soft & pliable leather, perfect for a comfortable upper.

@neph93 Double mids, 100’s, and fully lined are awesome to keep your feet warm in the winter. They are stiff with a long break in. Fantastic when they are.
I too have summer boots (single, unlined), and winter boots. Singles are great feel under foot, but don’t keep my feet warm when it’s -20. Double’s lose the sensitivity walking on ice/snow but the warmth is worth it.
-
I've always been very jealous of all you Wesco owners so I have finally placed my first order.
8" Packer
British Tan Domain, brown stitching, black eyelets no speed hooks.
Double white outsole stitching
Do not ink soles and heels
#700 SoleAfter agonising over Jobmasters, Johannes' and Hendrik's that we have in stock, I finally had the opportunity to try one of the upcoming Blackways Packers and boom, perfect fit and the western toe is totally for me. They can't come soon enough!
-
Can’t wait to see your tan domain packers @Graham . I’ve lusted for packers for years now…curious about how the arch support feels on them.
Blackways Packers????? Tell us more.

My first pair were oil-tanned double mids, intended as an all round boot but with a an eye on winter. They are warm, tackle the moisture well, and the double mids and full heel keep your up in the snow, but I found the lack of flexibility, even when broken in, to be a problem on ice. The stiffness negates the gripping effect of the lugs. It was a great excuse to buy these:

@neph93 Doubles on ice are tricky and I have to do more of a shuffle when walking (true pretty much any time when it’s extremely icy for all footwear). The warmth though is worth it.
Every winter I tell myself I’m going to buy the slip on ice cleats, but forget until winter is halfway over. Our winter weather has been progressively warming for the last 15 years. When I first came to Canada 30 years ago, we always had a week (or two) of -40. I haven’t seen that in years. Now our coldest days/weeks are -20 and we’re not even seeing much of that anymore.
-
Sadly, yes. To clarify, if winters were miserable like they used to be, then I would remember to buy cleats due to necessity.
However, since winters have been getting warmer, I forget that the cleats would be handy for the few slippery days every winter.
Mid winter, cold weather cabin fever, brain fog has set in. I really need a week in some tropical location for some warm weather alcohol induced brain fog (much more enjoyable).

Wow… it’s all happening on this thread...
@motojobobo and @goosehd … love both those pairs of JM’s.. goosed, you look very similar to mine but with extra ‘ shit kicker’ soles.. that burlap on giles’s mr Lou’s? Looks neat too.
I’ve just received my custom Jobmasters this morning after a 4 month wait…, single midsole in charcoal, bit of a gamble as I want sure how They’d turn out but they are awesome. I went for an ‘E’ width rather than the D on my others, and I must say having worn them all day, have been a lot more comfy from the get go. The others took and age to break in but almost like slippers now

The last few pages of this thread are phenomenal! Can't wait to see those Packers @Graham.
I reckon it's about time for me to get some roughout burlap Johannes boots. I've been going back and forth with Chris at Wesco with my ideas. I'll post the final build once I make up my mind.
