I'm becoming more and more aware that am growing into a much larger body (in my 30s) than in my 20s. I'm thinking sizing up two from my old size (XL) will be enough to actually button up the jacket. Also will be able to shrink it if needed. I'm thinking sizing up just one to XXL won't be enough with this jacket, especially after how nicely my 17oz Duck CPO fits me. I guess that kind of opened my eyes to how garments should really fit.
@Giles cool, that is what I was hoping you would have said.

Hot wash, but the key is gonna be wearing it buttoned at the bottom before it dries. Time the wash so that a few hours later, you can walk around in daylight and do things in it while it’s slightly damp. If it shrinks in the wash, hopefully the stretch from the post wash wear will stretch it back where it needs to be.

I’m assuming that’s directed to me?
They are always “hard” to button when new, but the reason to put it on and at least button the bottom button (two would probably be better) and wear around is so that you can stretch it out to fit your needs. The best time to do that is when it is still damp. Otherwise you are at the mercy of the shrink, which might be too much or might be just enough, you won’t know until you try. If you hang it to dry and then take it down while damp and wear it buttoned, at least you can use that resistance to bend over and move around and squat to help the bottom hem stretch a bit if it shrinks too much for your liking.

Arthur’s a legend. And one of my favorite people on the forum. Subliminal serendipity
Wear in good health.. Good fades and good spirits

You can always simply hot soak the top part first, leaving the bottom untouched. And then whenever you wanna wash, just do it regular

@sabergirl thank you. After the soak I feel awesome about it. Currently wearing it buttoned up (what a chore) and damp to work, as @adam313 suggested. My fingers are blue and my thumbs are sore and somehow that is a good thing with this hobby

I think it looks really good, and over time it’ll break in,settle and form to you. I had gotten a you’ve been tagged notice yesterday, but maybe it was the mistake you @Oaktavia and Adam were talking about. Appreciate the kind words @adam313
It was a mistake on my part, maybe it was because I see both of your names frequently and your post status is in Japanese. Two legends of the forum! Thanks for the feedback.

Looks amazing @Oaktavia. I am sure it is crispy as hell right now. You'll put it through the wringer soon enough!
