Self Edge x Iron Heart = SEXIH22-301s
-
Thank you all
@Appfaff: I used to bring the Jeans to the closest tailor from my home during the last years. That‘s the result:
It does the job, but doesn’t look really neat. Somehow I‘m worried that others might refuse to take care of them now and clean up all the mess which has been done to them.
-
@beef_bonanza maybe you ought to trade them in and treat yourself to a new pair?
-
@Filthy might be an option, if anyone is interested (I thought as the fabric is not used in other jeans and was done by SE, it might be not of interest for IHUK). I still have a few more jeans in the waiting line for heavy rotation (among them: PIH5DCT and 555-03)…but yeah, a new pair is always an option
-
My thoughts were, if you were to have Rain repair them, it would be an extensive repair… like probably over a $150 (just speculation) and that is if you are lucky enough to get on her wait list (that opens April 1st and I am not sure of what time...). Or you could trade them in and put the repair money towards a new pair. They are very awesome jeans. Maybe Kiya might want them framed and hanging in a store somewhere.
But you have 2 other pairs so I'd just wear those.
-
You are completely right. I think the repair cost + the shipping back and forward (Germany-US-Germany) are not reasonable anymore. I‘ll wear them as long as possible and then off to a new pair. Especially as I would also not buy this fit again which I liked 7 years ago (or at least size up) It‘s too restricting combined with the stiffness of the fabric.
-
I look forward to see how you destroy your next pair
-
I‘ll have to get pics up. The 555-03 is also close to 300 days I prefer to have less pants but wear them out completely.
-
One other thought I just had. If you do give them to someone and they frame them, please request they frame them backside out.
-
Framing for my own apartment could also be an option :-
But if someone is willing to hang my old jeans up his wall I‘d leave it up to them.I just consider to keep the local repairs going until at least one of the knees pops through…
-
Great wear on your pair @housekeys ! How long you had been wearing them?
-
Thanks, @RoxRocks86 !
I've had these since they released, so about ~7 years or so. I actually have another pair of these as well.
Like many others can relate, they sit in a very heavy rotation of other iron hearts, amongst other things. But I try to do my best at giving each pair some love.
-
ah the problem of having too much denim…idk what that's like ::)
-
So then. I decided to wear them till the wheels fall off Here they are after 806 days of wear!
-
Those are unbelievable @beef_bonanza
-
Hi everyone, might buy a 2nd hand pair of these but would like to know how they breathe - Ive seen a few different comments but not a ton of complaints.
I've got experience with 19L (not breathable), 21oz, UHR, and XHS, 18oz double indigo, and the old 18oz original stuff. Can anyone comment on any comps?
-
Hi @Mnbiker, from my perception they do breath less when I compare them with my 25oz indigo-indigo and 21oz SBG pairs. Hope this helps. To me this is the stiffest denim I ever had. Make sure to size generously.

Feature over at Heddels:

Most likely they will need another repair very soon to master the coming wears. It‘s amazing (sort of) that they are still incredibly stiff while having an almost velvet-like surface.

@beef_bonanza 10/10 would bang
