Random Love (anti-rants)

Wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes yesterday when I was going in for surgery. I'm on the sore side of recovery but have to assume I'm progressing in the right direction. Great group of people here on the forum!
Positive vibes coming at you.

Can I just say how much I love this year's Christmas banner on the forums?! It's brilliant!
I was just going to post the same exact thing here. Good call. I am not crazy about Christmas because I am forced to be around people I do not like to be around… But I do like the lights and decorations.

@Joberwocky Dude I don’t know how I missed that you were having surgery. Hope you’re doing ok!
And absolutely yes to the awesome holiday graphics. ‘Tis the season
-
Well I need to learn how to read dates. But I still hope @Joberwocky is ok. Sheesh
-
Ha, thanks a bunch @SKT
I'm finally back to the point where I think my muscles are back in shape, and working out has resumed
Also, wearing XHS feels comfortable again, which is the real victory -
great job on the banner @Steve !!!

About 3 months ago I ordered a load of Tulip bulbs for delivery late this year. On Monday of this week, I realised that they had not turned up. I wrote to the company https://www.gee-tee.co.uk/ and asked when I may receive them. Almost immediately I got an email expressing their profound apologies, the order got lost in the system. The bulbs I ordered were no longer available, so they offered me a full refund and a selection of summer flowering bulbs as "compensation". They arrived today, Jesus-tapdancing-Christ, there are literally 1,000's of bulbs in this box, it weighs about 40lbs…

@Giles Two things: What a cool gesture to remedy a mistake. I am very impressed. (You guys are going to be busy).
Second. I love your table and chairs. Do you have any background on them? Age, history, etc. I am more and more interested every time I see a picture of the setting.
-
Ha. The table is a French farmhouse table, Cherry with sweet chestnut inserts). It has 2 massive leaves, which is very typically French country style). It'll seat 6 easily un-extended, and about 14 at a pinch when fully extended (though you can just extend one leaf, not both).
Here it is with one leaf extended….
Here's the sort of thing (though that is much nicer than ours):
The chairs (we have 6 including 2 arm chairs) are known as Stick Back Windsor chairs. Ours are Ash with an Elm seat. Original sets are fearfully expensive, so ours are repros, and we got them from here about 20 years ago (these are Oak, not Ash and Elm)…

This is a nice one. Also sold, but it is better priced. So, I think it is just a matter of keeping an eye out….
