@BloodnThunder & @Dmart thanks for your JBL sizing experience. I believe my Brannock is a 9.5D, but haven’t checked in years. I wear an 8.5 in the Viberg 2050 & 1035 and some of the their 2030s. And then other Viberg 2030s I wear an 8.0 - it depends on if lasted a little bigger or smaller. My US sneaker size is normally a 10.0 . Based on @BloodnThunder experience - an 8.5 should work. However, @Dmart experience would indicate a larger size. Thus, I’m thinking I’m either an 8.5 or a 9.0 in the JBL. Definitely won’t be doing a preorder and will be looking at the return policy until get a pair under feet. If anyone else has experience with Viberg vs JBL sizing - greatly appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

High arches. 9.5D brannock, 8.5 in Viberg hiking, smokejumper, and 2030 service boot lasts, and my 9.5 Lofgrens are probably a full size larger than they should be (though with thick insoles and using the straps they are very comfortable) @John Galt If I were buying more Lofgrens, the question would be 8.5 or 9.

Finn, John (shopatspeedway@NOSPAM.hotmail.com) is a pleasure to deal with and will answer sizing questions. The gist of it is these seem straight up US sized.
Also @John Galt see the above–not sure if that email address is still in use, but probably not too hard to track down JL and ask him.

I’m an 11C on brannock. I take 12 in US running shoes, 11.5 in converse chucks. Just fitted at Whites and Wesco this week. 10.5 in custom Whites (that look similar to semi dress), 10 in Mr Lous.
Have had the JL engineer in black cxl in a 10.5 for about 8 months now. I need a thick pair of boot socks and a slimmer pair of Nike socks to make them snug. I used a half sole insert most of the first 7 months (helped with heel slip) but have been playing with taking it out lately. End of they day, they are comfy but I would buy a 10 if I we’re starting over.

Standard & Strange is also unbelievably helpful with sizing advice as they carry all of these brands (Lofgren, Wesco, Viberg) in store.

I can attest to that. Wonderful people and super helpful. Shopping with them is super dangerous because everything they have is superlative.

I will second that S&S is an absolutely fantastic store. The best peeps, SO helpful.
Also just something to think about when you're trying them on: they can be a bit troublesome if you've got a high instep. I wear a size 12 (13 Brannock), and sometimes big-running 12s can be a little snug on me. The Lofgrens are no exception — I'd love a 13 if they actually made them. All that said, mine are wearable despite the fact that my toes are right at the end. The big thing was the instep — it was a real bitch to get them on for the first several months I had them, and I had them stretched twice. My Wescos are comparatively a million times easier.
This is not a knock on Lofgrens — I love them and have several pairs, but just thought it's worth mentioning that the engineers can be tricky.

I pulled the trigger on a pair of black engineers today
so excited, can‘t wait to get them ! -
Woo!!! Let us know what you think!

Got the engineers yesterday but they are to small
I have to go for size 9.5.
I will change the black ones to the natural clx because they are available in 9.5
I absolutly love those boots, and I have absolutly no problems to put them on. I just slide in them like they are sneakers. Great -
@Daniel San I’m in the market for Lofgren engineers and interested in what your Brannock or other known sizing is that you found the size you ordered to be too small. I’m trying to determine sizing. I’ve seen others suggest going from 1 size less than Brannock to TTS with most people suggesting going 0.5 under Brannock. What specifics did you find? Thanks!

@John Galt
I have a US 9.5 in almost all of my shoes/boots. I have 3 pairs of Red Wing Iron Rangers in 9.5 .
It was a try to go for a 9 in the Lofgren engineers, normally and for the most this works.
But not in my case ::) , they are just a little too short. specially on the right foot which seems to be a bit longer .
I will get the 9.5 next week , so I will see and report here . -
@Daniel San Thats a bummer man! I just bought a pair of 9’s from VoodooRay… I also wear a 9.5 in redwing 8 last. I’m really worried they are going to be too short
-
That's really great that they slip right on! Consider yourself lucky!
-
Hey Josh
I really hope they will work for you !!
you will know when you put them on. shoe sizing is a real science ::)
all my Iron Rangers fit different although they are all 9.5
the Amber Harness is the tightest one, I really had to break them in for weeks. But now they are perfect.
the oxblood mesa was quite comfy out of the box, 2 or 3 days of wearing …perfect
the hawthorn mulliner was soft as a sneaker right out of the box and it is the roomiest one of the 3 pairs -
I read everything I could about sizing them before I grabbed that pair. There is a lot of different opinions about the fit of Lofgrens, but the size comparison from east/west apparel had me convinced it would be ok. They compared the Beckman size 9.5 to the Lofgren size 9. I have two pair of beckmans one a 9 and one 9.5. Neither one of which are too short ??? Now I’m freaking out… and I gotta wait a whole week for them to get here to find out!

Those CLX combat boots look awesome arrow!
-
@arrow nice!!! My black combats pretty much get the most wear out of all my boots. So comfortable, plus they age so well. You'll really enjoy em.
