IH-666-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
Seems like this is the move, for sure @henry_david
I've had a real strong itch to buy a pair in 21oz so I can give em a try, but I'm gonna wait for the UHR. Can't add 2 more pairs of jeans at the moment, or else truly nothing I own will ever fade haha…
-
lol I understand… Currently anxiously awaiting both the UHR and a restock of the IH-822.

My XHS is now in it's 6th month of continuous daily wear and the waist has stretched quite a bit compared to where it started - https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1819.msg701361#msg701361
For any of you out there starting out with a tight waist, I would recommend not to do what I did - https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1819.msg701495#msg701495
Let the denim naturally stretch which is the only way to get a comfortable fit after few weeks. I might wash it towards end of February with the hope that the waist will tighten a bit.

It has been just more than 6 months since I have been wearing my XHS and I gave it a quick hot soak today. Within minutes of putting it in the water, the water turned pale indicating the dirt it accumulated over the last 6 months of almost daily wear. Now looking forward to the result / fit post soak.
-
Get ready — they're gonna be crunchy as hell when they dry, but don't worry. They'll get super comfortable after some wears. I was really blown away by how much mine softened up after that first wash.
-
The denim is getting dried. I hope to take that "denim standing by itself" shot like everyone else!
-
I tried and mine won't stand up by itself. I don't know why. May be it has softened already and has lost its stiffness. Post soak, I noticed a little bit of change in the fit, especially in the waist, but otherwise no big change.

Hi all,
After not being able to resist the pull of IH I have the bug. I now have 666 21oz ODs, 666 slubbys and 666 210z. I initially lusted after the XHS but now wonder if they will be made redundant next to my 21oz and whether the cash is better spent on a flannel or western shirt.
So question - Is 25oz different enough to 21oz to warrant both?
Thanks

This is one of the easiest questions I’ve ever had the pleasure to answer.
YES.
Colour, hand, weave, fading, all of it. Different, different, different.

Thanks gents. Looks like the Gosport pilgrimage is a go.

You won't regret having both — each is fantastic. Big diffs off the top of my head:
21oz — very soft from the get-go. Mellow vintage-style fades. Most notable vibe to me: comfort.
XHS — takes some break-in, but gets soft and very comfortable (although not as soft as the 21oz). Higher contrast, more sharply defined fades due to the crispier nature. Holds its shape and molds to you better than any other denim I've owned. Most notable vibe to me: it really adapts to you and has a great deal of personalization.

…I currently own the 555, 634, 777, and 888 cuts all in 25oz XHS. The 666 Devils Cut is inbound (25oz XHS). If the powers that be decide to do the '1955' cut in 25oz XHS I would very likely purchase those also.
...all different, unique in how they fit me but I appreciate them all and I always love deciding which one to wear for the day or occasion.
...living in America's Arctic Region the 25oz XHS is wearable virtually all year long with perhaps some mild suffering in the peak of summer but there's always the 'Redemptive power of suffering'.
...I love 25oz XHS Iron Heart Denim and I think you will too! @Kingsselvedge1
