WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
-
Replenishing my bird feeder in the yard. Only seeds today, some days I’ll put out some bananas for the fruit eaters. I’ve had to work hard at establishing mine as popular eatery for the feathery crowd. Birds are very wary of people around here; still popular for kids to roam around with slingshots in hand. Plus plenty of cats too. Fortunate to have a river about 1 km from my house which helps with diversity and numbers. I get to see 10 or species daily, with some days hitting the 20-species highs. I’ll try to get a pic to share one of these days.

…@goosehd if I would've learned how to sail at their age instead of 45 I might still be at it. Too much work!
...those KingFisher Boats are bad ass.
...put a 120 miles on the UHR's today.

Hiking

Hiking in Stowe VT. Followed by a stop at The Alchemist. A few empties, but a bunch to take home.

Bloody heavens opened on my bloody bike ride home. My first thought as I got soaked through was ‘but how will it affect my fades?’
The rain in nonetheless very welcome. Glad I managed to get some grass seed down this morning.

@Matt , @Fadez correct; living and ranching in eastern Bolivia, lowlands. Usually poor, intermittent or occasional internet.
A few pics
Truck moving ranch hands around
Cuckoo bird, free-roaming ranch pet, raised from newborn and now 4 months old.
Ranch food. Oven baked ‘bread’ made from rice flour. Larger ones are cheese filled. Delicious but a lot of work required for them. Local names are ‘pan de arroz’ and ‘empanada de arroz’
These guys were born last night and too small to walk 3 km to the corral where their mothers are going, so they get to ride in the truck. -
@motojobobo Were you born and raised in the area or did you move there? I’ve always loved your pictures and stories.
Thank you for sharing!

Hey buddy! Thanks for your encouragement on my pics and (super short) stories. I’ve always veered towards brevity and may come off as rude. And yes, I’m locally bred, born and raised. Spent some years in the US during college and grad school. Turns out I’m @Matty123 ’s alma mater mate’s but different years. Been living back here for the last 24 years.
How I wish I had found IH earlier. My first purchase was a IHxViberg engineer boot, and when I look at my closet I realize I wandered into a rabbit giant cave.@motojobobo cool, looking forward to having a chat in Gosport
That will be fun @endo and I very much look forward to it. I’m still working on getting my visa for the UK in time. Hope it happens. With my passport, EVERY visa is a major hassle.
