IHWE-MRLOU-BLK - Wesco® - 10" Horsehide Pull-On "Mister Lou" Engineer Boot - Black
-
For what it’s worth, my ideal Wesco fit is a 10D on a MP last, and I’d do the same for a boss last and enjoy the extra room.
However, I have engineers on both ends of the spectrum - I have the 1940s boss with MP toe in a 9.5E and the mr Lou in a 10.5E.
Going down did cause a ton of break in discomfort, but after a few months of wearing them one or twice a week - where the leather seams are stitched were the main areas of discomfort - they stretched a good amount and I have very comfortable boots / especially with thin socks.
The mr lous sized up have been a dream to break in. Yes they have some give and wiggle, but I just tighten the straps down and am good to go. I’m sure after years of wear, I might get a bit of uneven wear due to a bit of sliding, but it works for me and gives me a little bulkier boot to wear with some of my wider pants.
Not giving advice so much as sharing experience.

Man, I am so torn between D and E width. Living in Sweden ordering double doesn't work as well for me. Going 9D in Red Wing Iron Rangers without a problem suggest that I should go with that but other say they are a bit slimmer than normal. I'd happily take any advice I can get.
Btw, any signs of a restock in a near future?

Honestly, I used to wear a 10D in Iron rangers and my ideal size in Mr Lou would be a 10E if I got another pair. You can easily make them snugger - it’s expensive making them bigger.

Good point, thanks for the reply. It's nervewrecking ordering 700 euro boots without trying them but these seem worthy of the risk

Great looking boots @Appfaff

Since these are on the MP last, they are definitely slimmer, especially in the toe box. If you are a D in the boss last, I think going to an E in this one is probably a smart choice.

Hey @injunjack going up a width in the Mister Lou isn't always the answer, it really depends on how snug the D with is on you in the Boss, yes @Appfaff is right, they are slimmer but only marginally. A lot of the advice I have been giving to people is based around sticking with the same width they take in the standard boss boot. If a standard boss in a D width is relatively snug on them they considering an E with is an option. If a D in the boss is fitting perfect and not tight I would advise sticking with the D width.
What colour where you looking for in the Mister Lou? I can see whats available.

I'm looking for 9D or E. Black.
My usual size is 9d which my wescos are, (except my chippewa 1901M48 which are 9E, perfect fit nowadays. I know they don't compare directlyas mu other chippewas are 9D).
I ready to take 9E's as, as I said earlier, my right foot is wider nowadays. How much difference there is in D and E widthwise?

Hey
Just sharing my recent experience. Hope it helps a bit.I am 8.5 D in Redwing IR and ordered a pair or Mr Lou in 8.5 D. They were really snug, I wear them inside with a thin plastic bag instead of socks. My feet were almost dumb after a few minutes of wearing them. I retuned them and took a 8.5 E instead. That is much better…I am in the process of breaking in.
This having been said. I believe I could have managed to breack in the 8.5 D but with much unncesary pain.

@injunjack Shouldn't be too far in the not so distant future. What size were you looking for in an E width? I can see if what Wesco have available at the moment.

@injunjack Ill get back to you when they wake up on the West coast.
