IH-9526PJ - 21oz Non-Fade Denim Modified Type III - Superblack
-
That person may not exist, however do you know the lot number of the SE jacket? Chances are it is the IH-526j-142 or one of its variants. Find that out and providing they carry it I’m sure the guys in Gosport will be happy to measure arm width for you and compare.
According to SE it's IHJ-86. This is the jacket in question:

Seems it may be a SE exclusive?
-
You may be out of luck then. That looks like something SE have specced from Japan that IHUK don’t carry. In theory, it should have the same specs as the IH-526J-142ib but I can’t guarantee that.
That's my assumption as well, but there's an old saying about what happens when one assumes.
Maybe my best bet is to just try to get some are width measurements on the IH-9526PJ and go off that.
-
It is not an SE exclusive, we gave them a 6 month lead on it. Then when we came to run it for the rest of the world, we had used up our stock of 14oz bb denim. So rather than doing nothing for months on end, we made this:
https://www.ironheart.co.uk/jackets/ih-526j-142ib.html
That is likely to be similar size-wise to the bb version (but not having measured a bb yet, we can't be sure), so you could run a compare against that:

…I'm in!...Damn! :o
...looks like I'll be wearing this when I start watching the 'Yellowstone' series. (now where's that Stetson) ::)
-
…should of been here Monday but will be here today!! Jacketous interuptous!!
...It missed the first season first installment of Yellowstone. Quite a debut..wow! :o
...oh! there's that Stetson!
-
Excited to hear what you think @vaquero357. Even by IH standards, this thing is a beast.
-
…couldn't be happier! I was worried about it possibly being too long but that has been found to be unwarranted!
...working on a 'theme' here if you couldn't tell.
-
…after 'wrangling' the 25oz XHS's this weight feels pretty tame neph! Great weight for a jean jacket.
...been thinking about the 'Ton' method, form fitting by wearing a soaked jacket until dry, but I gotta imagine this thing is going to bleed black big time! You'd have to wear it buck naked because the bleed would wreck anything you'd be wearing underneath it! :o
-
…gave it a wash. Hang dried. Worked out nicely.

Looks amazing Vaquero! Just picked mine up yesterday and I’m curious about whether the wash softened it up a bit for you? It’s so stiff that I can’t get my hand in the pocket when unbuttoned unless I use both hands
-
Would a trip to the ol’ washing machine soften her up a bit besides?
Not really, and yes it will take a lot of time.
As for pockets…. I’m of the opinion that type III’s don’t need them. Not that long IH didn’t have them on their type III’s.
I would recommend wearing them and forcing the pockets to work for you. They’ll give in eventually.
-
I rarely use the hand warmer pockets but the inside pockets as a result of the handwarmers are the reason why I only buy and wear modified type III’s
I wore my 21oz non fade III last year all winter and it can still stand on it’s own
Wonderful versatile jacket though -
…Hey Tuefar! Neine! The wash didn't phase it! A beast to be sure. I just had the 'Storm Rider' delivered recently and that jacket is like wearing a litter of kittens compared to this baby!
...your jacket fit looks spot on my friend, wear the hell out of it! It's up to the task!

Thanks a lot @neph93 , @Plymouth58 & @vaquero357
Guess I’ll live in this suit of armor then ️ Ah, the troubles of only truly loving black denim jackets (heresy, I know) -
Wearing mine every day for about two month now. It definitely softened up a lot. Its not really soft, it's true, it literally still stands on it's own (I just tried it out) but it's waaaay easier and more comfortable to wear then at the beginning. Did no wash no nothing.
Great jacket!!Gesendet von meinem SM-A505FN mit Tapatalk
