Hello People,
How much does the 14oz stretch? Sizing looks similar to my warehouse 900 but with less taper from the knees, which should be fine for me -
Any chance these are going to be restocked soon?

Hi. I'm new to this denim world and (obviously) new in this forum. I own a pair of IH 21 oz and just love the feel of them that I don't think I'd ever wear anything lighter (don't judge me, I'm a noob ). Then I saw this 14 oz. As great as they feel the 21 oz can get quite hot sometimes. Especially here in my tropical home country of Indonesia. At first I thought lighter surely meant better breathability. But then I read somewhere in the forum that wasn't necessarily the case. Can anybody enlighten me? Aside from the fact that it's cheaper why would anyone go for the 14 oz over the 21 oz?

The 14oz definitely feels more wind resistant than the 21 to me which means it also traps more heat and doesnt breathe as well. I've always assumed this was because thinner yarns used on the 14oz fabric can pack more tightly and be woven into a fabric that has less open area; similar to how there's more empty volume in a jar filled with oranges than there are with marbles. Maybe one of the IH crew can provide the real reason(s).
In general, the 14 also feels more hard-faced than 21 and has remained relatively crunchy/stiff even after ~6mo of wear on a jacket. The 16oz slubs are the ones I'd look to for wanting to wear heavy denim in a hot climate if the 21's are too much.
As for why 14 over 21, because it's different?

I guess knowing what you want & what you're looking for in a pair of jeans would very much help. All I know is that I just love the feel of my IH 21s. I guess I'll just be getting another pair of the 21s after all. Cheers.
