IHDR-502-OLV - 11oz Cotton Whipcord Cargo Pants - Olive

@Matt - I think they look cool as f*ck on you dude. Nice matching blade too - I know nothing about knives FYI , I’d probably get arrested carrying that here in London
I found choosing a size tricky for these due to lack of stretch in the fabric. Im used to the margin for error you get with denim. Luckily I own a pair of tag 33 888s-RE in the eco denim. 32.7” waist new, now at 34” full stretch. They’re a little restrictive around the gut as I have a bit of a beer belly, but not a problem. I went up a tag in the 502s (measuring exactly 35”) as I want NO squeeze around the gut. Might be a gamble, but I’d rather be a tad over than under.
Anyway, I’ll post pics when they arrive. -
It’s Monday, and I’m in love (with these pants). Sorry the photos are shitty, they definitely don’t do the trousers justice. @Matt your sunshine pictures do a much better job conveying the colour and slight shine
These are tag 34, I’m 6”1 and 180lbs. Was toying with a 33 but glad I didn’t. There’s room to manoeuvre but they sit on my hips without needing a belt. It’s pushing 30C here today so too hot for them right now. Praying for cooler weather…

Thanks @neph93 mate! I’m looking forward to seeing how they look with a few other combos, but too hot and humid to bother today. I had 80% RH readout on my dehumidifier this morning, awful. The climate in your neck of the woods sounds nicer to me, but could be a case of the grass always being greener.. Do you still own a pair of these?
I’m surprised how hefty these feel given the 11oz fabric, but guess the double-knees and pockets all add to the weight. I think they’ll be awesome for anything less than 25C so should see almost year round action for me, save for the hottest of days.
-
@jerkules those are great! It’s too hot in the desert for these at the moment though the humidity is not the issue. I could wear them on cloudy days, in the shade or at night but the sun is brutal out here. I’m from the east coast though so no stranger to oppressive, soul sucking humidity. Single digit humidity is amazing. Great fit! Can’t wait for fall.
-
@Matt thanks dude, the trousers are absolutely killer and I can’t wait for cooler temps.
Whereabouts in the desert are you? I took a work trip to Albuquerque a couple of years ago in the middle of August. Checking the forecasts before I went, I was totally dismayed that temperatures were in the early 40s (Celsius). Only other time I’d experienced heat like that was in Vietnam a few years previous and I thought I was gonna die. When I arrived in Albuquerque I couldn’t believe how comfortable I was. Spent whole days on foot totally fine. It was skin-tingling in direct sun, but in no way oppressive. I think I could quite enjoy living in such a climate.

Ah awesome, my visit was incredibly brief but I really enjoyed my time. I spent most of my first day at Marble brewery and it was great, lots of friendly folks to chat to. Was in trouble meeting clients the next day with excruciating headache. Managed to convince everyone it was caused by the altitude. Had a really great pizza at a place called Farina’s. I’d jump at another chance to visit.

We’ve had a few 30C days here too, but on the whole it is milder. Swings and roundabouts though as we get a lot of precipitation.
I had to move on my W34’s from the original batch as the top block and waist was too trim. The second batch seems to have a larger waist, but I’m once bitten, and the W36 seems way to big. As is often the case with me, a theoretical tagged 35 would be the one.
-
@neph I used to be a theoretical 35 when the size run would come up small, right up until the time when they actually started making them. It was frustrating.
For what it’s worth I used my 34 Busters that measure 34 post stretch as a comparison and these in 33 with a true 34 waist feel bigger.
