IHSH-232-RED - Ultra Heavy Flannel Buffalo Check Western Shirt - Red/Black
-
all good brother!

Would someone make the case for the difference between the western and the work shirt. I mean, this is a core , an icon…But of course I'm a bit conflicted. The rest of my UHF are westerns. So this is the first time I'm hot for the work shirt style. Ideas? Preferences? My inner lumberjack is tres confused yo.

Just snagged an XL in the summer sale, super pumped on this shirt!
Has anyone hot washed/dried this shirt for shrinkage? I have an IHSH-33-T in XL and a IHSH-13-BLU in L and they both fit well in different ways. Went with the XL for this since heavy flannel is kind of an overshirt for me but I do like a trim fit. Shrinking IN would be okay but shrinking UP would be a waste of $US300. Any luck with shrinking this bad boy?

@ThunderHawk i own neither of those shirts, but I can see from a quick look at the dimensions that I would almost certainly be XL in the 33-T and a L in 13-BLU. Perhaps we have similar builds. I’m generally an XL in western UHFs, so think you made the right choice with XL here.
Jett129’s advice is wise - once shrunk it ain’t stretching back. UHFs can shrink about a half size with hot washing but you’d want to do incrementally to avoid going too far. -
Thanks all for the replies, the "un-unringable bell problem" (is that a thing? I assume it is) is exactly my concern. Don't even have the shirt yet so we'll see!

I got decent shrink from a cold-wash/no spin & line dry on one of my UHF's:
New/After - Tag XXXL
Shoulders: 19.8/19.8
Length: 30.5/30.0
Chest/P2P: 23.8/23.0
Waist: 23.1/22.7
Opening: 23.2/22.75
Sleeve: 27.9/27.5You could always start low & work your way up to get a slimmer fit.

That's a serious amount of shrinkage considering how you washed. I have admittedly been a bit of a dirtbag with my UHFs because the XXXXLs are on the short side as it is for me. I'm honestly nervous about washing any of them now. None of my other Iron Heart shirts have had any shrinkage issues with regular washing. I guess when my UHF collection gets too stinky and I wash I'll just sell them all LOL. Seriously though, why can't this fabric be pre shrunk before sewing? Out of all the Iron Heart products the UHF seems to be the one that can't be worn and washed when stinky without significant shrinkage.

My UHF had stretched back out after the couple times I've washed and hang-dried them. They start off a little tight after a wash but will return back to where it needs to be.

Best shirt in the world @jerkules - looking fly
-
Such an excellent fit you have there @jerkules with the buffalo!
-
I think you've convinced me @jerkules . I have a couple UHFs in the Western, but man this classic red buffalo check looks KILLER, and clean. Fits ya great, btw, congrats

Buffalo with the olive whipcord very good

Cheers guys! I always held off for this shirt due to it being extant - doesn’t quite build up the pressure to make the purchase. Recent sale saw to that. But it’s continuous production for a reason after all, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Now to hide it from the wife for a couple of months as I’ve been on a bit of a splurge lately.
And anyone trying to decide on the Division Road collab cargoes, they’re absolutely 🤌🤌🤌
