IHSH-299-PUR - Ultra Heavy Flannel Work Shirt - Classic Check - Purple
-
Update:
pre-wash measurements (taken by IH):
Shoulder: 18.2"
Length: 28.7"
P2P - 22.0"
Waist: 21.2"
Opening: 21.6"
Sleeve: 26.0"post-wash measurements:
Shoulder: 17.8"
Length: 28.5"
P2P - 21.8"
Waist: 20.7"
Sleeve: 25.9"Looks like minimal shrinkage as we are starting low and going slow (with a warm water low cycle soak).
Looking at these dims again and the new measurements (minor/negligible shrinkage), don’t seem to meet up with the changed fit. Maybe the better lighting in the pics? Maybe a little bit was all you needed?
Either way, there is more shrinkage to be had if you want, but I’ll stick with my original recommendation to leave it where it is now.

Hey @neph93 , Thanks for taking more time into the analysis. I never measured the shirt when I got it (*in all fairness), I just took IH's word on it as they are the experts, however, I have posted the pics below of how I measured the post-wash, maybe I am not doing it the IH way and that is where the shortcomings are? I am in no way, shape or form great at measuring at this level of accuracy if it's any constellation.
However, I do agree, more shrinkage is definitely left in this shirt.

You are not measuring the shoulders or the waist the way we do (watch the vid linked from every shirt page). And unless we gave you specific measurements for your shirt, there is no guarantee that it measured as per the published sizing chart, as these are the average of 2 or 3 shirts

Hi Giles, thanks for the feedback. I will remeasure the shoulders and the waist and see if there is a significant difference. I did get exact measurements for the shirt I received from Graham.

The real question is, are you happier with the fit now than you were pre wash?
Definitely, I am completely smitten with the shirt overall, I think it was a great choice for a first work shirt and the IH crew was amazing with finding me this size.
When I wash it again in a long time, I will see how the P2P/waist shrinks, with being conscious to stretch the sleeves as you mentioned seemed to really help.

I'm so bummed this version didn't make it to Colorado.

Damn. There were some L's last night, (but no XL's) but they have sold now. So sorry….
Noooooooo

Biggest of thanks to @AdamC and @Giles for nabbing this shirt in a ladies medium from Japan.
I typically order UHFs in ladies small which fits slim and trim straight out of the bag. Been pining for a more relaxed fit (smaller than XS) for while but LMs always sell like hot cakes. Happy to finally get one in such a beautiful colorway

@RoxRocks86 toujours avec classe comme d’habitude…

@RoxRocks86 –- If you ever go to Alaska...you will be ready to rock with those UHFs !!
Did your sister's shirt get there yet?----Im sure she will be a new convert -
Thank you @momo73
@dinobarnesberlin haha when hell freezes over I’ll be over prepared. & yes my sister got the shirt. She loved how it felt so much she just kept feeling it up. I had to laugh bc it reminded me of how Mike can’t keep his hands off his denim

Sounds like another fan in the making
How could anyone NOT love this stuff though?
