Coronavirus (Covid-19) Discussion

@Filthy:
I haven't ever gotten a flu shot and I don't even have a PCP.
I dont find that so unusual. Makes my nurse wife exasperated, but I typically don't get the flu shot (more out of just acknowledged laziness) and only actually selected a PCP in this last year, so no judgement from me

As far as I know breakthrough infections are relatively mild and rare. The people dying in hospitals are NOT vaccinated. You may get sick but you won’t clog up the hospitals taking beds from those who really need them. Also, being vaccinated, though not full proof, decreases the potential of getting sick and getting others sick. It also minimizes the risk of mutations that could be even worse than what we’re dealing with now. Not being vaccinated all but guarantees you will get more severely ill and pass it along to others. It will also prolong the pandemic.
Get your vaccine and get your booster. Vaccines are why we all aren’t dead from polio.
That’s my $.02.
This has been the case at our hospital and pretty much the same system wide. For a while, we were double occupied in the ICU & putting in so many trachs and PEGs that we ran out.
It has been an exhausting experience and my patience and compassion are running thin.

@Filthy how ya feeling?
-
My arm kind of has a dull ache. That's about it
-
Glad to hear it, Mike.
I'm gonna have to start looking into where locally I can get mine
-
Just walk into Rite Aid like I did, Jason
-
I've got a pharmacy right around the corner I might see about hitting it up during lunch at work on Monday

I got boosted last Wednesday. It was fast and easy and I had a similar reaction to my second dose. I felt generally unwell for about 12 hours and that was it. I’ll be at full power by the time I’m supposed to see The Black Angels play in a couple weeks!

My arm feels like I got a tetanus shot. Basically like it's going to fall off.

Hey Ann, I sincerely wish I had more positive people like you in my life IRL. I am always happy to see you are here.

Katie got hers yesterday but they only had Pfizer. She said she’s feeling beat up today. I’m getting Moderna on Wed.
Fortunately everyone has off on Thursday so if the kids feel bad they won’t miss school.
Small price to pay in my opinion though. She and I are very excited that we’ll have less to worry about with the kids in the clear.
