IHM-29-BLK Alpaca Lined Whipcord N1 Deck Jacket - Black
-
I'm usually only an active reader/lurker on the forum so I don't post much, but I think this jacket deserves a shout-out. It's been on my radar for a while and lucky me the last size available in the outlet was XXL. Just in time before the long and dark Helsinki winter. Here's couple of indoor fit pics.

JN wins the award for the best beard on the forum… and the best music collection.
Also, the jacket looks GREAT.

…looks like a perfect fit JN!

Best N-1 on the deck!

…from the house to the truck to the shop to the truck to the house, the N1 alpaca is wonderful! If I had to work outside or spend any lengthy time in the sub-zero temperatures we're now experiencing I'm thinking the alpaca blend would take a back seat to straight shearling.
...so far though this N1 is my go to cold weather jacket and it sure is cozy!

Was looking to purchase an N1, I went to Self Edge and had to decide between the new version in Olive or they had the older version in black with the chocolate alpaca. Since I already have an m65 in olive I was leaning towards the black and I actually prefer the chocolate colored alpaca on the old black N1 to the lighter colored alpaca on the newer ones. I lose out on the collar wind resistance but it doesn't get too Arctic here.
Have to say the jacket is amazing! Totally overbuilt and incredibly warm. The alpaca lined pockets are awesome.
This is my only clothing I own with fur and I was curious where does Iron Heart source their alpaca from? Ethical sourcing of animal products is always something I look for…

It is alpaca wool, not fur. If you are happy in principle with sheep's wool you can be happy with this.

I was at a craft fair and had a farmer chew my ass for referring to alpaca as wool. “It’s fleece boy, dont you know anything?”!
