IH-777-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered Jeans - Indigo/Black

If all the other measurements feel good and you don't mind wearing a belt, it looks like you're ready to rock and roll with these! Congrats, they're a beautiful pair of jeans!
If you like the tapered silhouette of the 777, but the thighs are often too tight in that cut, perhaps the 888 might suit you even better? The 888 cut is tapered but has more roomy thigh measurements I think. Maybe for your next pair.[emoji6]

Thank you, I did check out the 888, but thought it might be too high rise for me as I prefer low rise.
I soaked it this morning and it's currently air drying. I'll post pics of the dimensions post-soak and on the body for comparison in shrinkage for documentation purposes.

Okay, that was one of the hardest experiences with denim having to do up the buttons (was a complete workout) and put the pants on after it was dry from the soak, not gonna lie.
Pre-Soak:
Waist 32.0"
Thigh 11.8"
Front Rise: 10.1"
Rear Rise: 14.7"
Knee: 7.8"
Hem: 7.1"Post-Soak:
Waist 31.6"
Thigh 11.5"
Front Rise: 10.1"
Rear Rise: 14.3"
Knee: 7.5"
Hem: 6.9"These measurements are probably not exact, I found it extremely difficult to accurately measure with the thickness and stiffness of the denim.
Below are photos on the body, and the waist is still loose. A belt will be needed going forward as the waist did not shrink enough. I soaked them in room temp water with Samurai Thunder Soap for 30 minutes, then rinsed them off and soaked again in cool water for 15 minutes.
I do have to mention that even just wearing them for the fit check just now, I can tell the back rise feels a bit lower, which seems consistent with some of the other comments I've seen about these jeans.
I literally had to have my wife use pliers to get the buttons done up, never worked up such a sweat trying to put on pants, the 555-01's have got absolutely nothing on these jeans toughness lol.
Open to all thoughts, ideas or comments, thank you all!
Re-fit check:

If you did another hot soak with some agitation, you could probably get a bit more shrinkage if you desire. Imo, fit looks good though.

@Oaktavia - gnarly fades going on there. for some reason your first pic reminds of the King of Hearts.. only w/peace signs instead of suicide swords
those murdered out chucks are a dead lock w/the XHSib

This will 1000% be my next pair of jeans. When do restocks usually drop ?
-
I own the 777-XHS, 777-XHSib as well as the 555-XHSib. All are 32” and hemmed to about 34”. Lockdown was tough but short in Taiwan. Combined with record high temperatures it made it thoroughly impractical to wear these jeans indoors when we had temperatures of 36-37’c daily. I came across the 777-XHSib last week and tried them on, basically they don’t do up. Despite monumental efforts the top button stubbornly refuses to meet. The other 2 have been suitably broken in and are nice and soft. I decided to give them a long soak as they haven’t been worn. Maybe this wasn’t the wisest decision.
Any suggestions apart from the obvious to lose a couple kilos ?

Alright, decided to take the plunge with these. I had previously owned the 666-XHS a couple of years ago and ended up selling them because of their lack of breathability and the cut was a little tight in the thigh for me. But I've since discovered that the 777 cut is nearly perfect for me and I decided to try this denim again, knowing that these are not every-day jeans (for me, at least) and thus tempering my wearing expectations. The wife and I are also looking to move the household to Texas next year, where I could wear these two or maybe three months out of the year. So best to start breaking them in now than after the move.
I decided to go with the indigo/black this time because I love the deep electric blue fades that this denim forms. After stretching out the button holes with needle-nose pliers, I hand-squeezed the legs in warm water for five minutes and the jeans are currently in the middle of an hour-long hot soak. Will hang-dry them overnight with the aid of a fan. Stoked to start breaking these in tomorrow!

Congrats @BlueBlood , good choice with the 777 cut, I love my XHSib.
I almost forgot how uniform and almost shiny they were when new
-
Thanks, @Joberwocky . Hope to have some 'combs like that on mine soon!

I made the mistake of buying mine in July which put me off to wearing them with as much consistency as they deserved ???
Last 5 months or so have been nearly non stop and they're absolutely fantastic now

So I'm a week into these jeans and am enjoying them quite a bit more than I did the 666-XHS. Wearing the right cut for one's body shape is pretty important.
That said, it also seems to me that the fabric of this pair is more pliable than my old 666-XHS. I thought that this was just a factor of what I'm used to now and my increased tolerance for stiff denim. But I also noticed that the waist of this pair has stretched 0.6" from the out-of-the-box measurement after just six days of wear. The waist of my 666-XHS only stretched 0.2" from the out-of-the-box measurement after three weeks of wear.
I realize that this denim is very difficult to weave and I'm guessing that the loom needs to be tweaked every now and again to produce useable denim. Perhaps this batch of denim was woven under slightly lower tension than previous batches?
