Ultra Heavy Raw (UHR), AKA 21/23oz Denim
-
I have a couple of questions about the UHRs:
(1) I read somewhere in the forum that they stay "crunchy" after numerous wears. Does this mean that the UHR fabric is constructed with short-fiber cotton, like most of Samurai's jeans?
(2) Does the UHR denim have the same double-twisted weft that is used in the 14 and 21 oz denim?

1. No, the fibres are quite long. I don’t know, but I would guess the crunchiness comes from the initial loomstate nature of the denim, combined with a very tight rugged weave. If you found the XHS too suffocating, these are next level again.
2. Nope.

I had forgotten how great this denim is.

@spitfiredealer dude you’re so savage on denim, couldn’t imagine a better beta tester. They look amazing in such a short space of time

@LewisStonehouse thanks mate. Manual work definitely produces fades. These are really comfy and only been in them a few weeks. The UHR doesn't have the crazy stiffness like some of the other heavier denim at the beginning
-
@spitfiredealer awesome. How do you think they weigh up against XHS. XHS is my favourite denim, I love the weight and how they feel, I also love 21oz but I prefer the heavier stuff

They don't have the softness of a pair of worn in XHS. They kinda have a rougher feel. Not in a bad way though

My question as well! Stoked that they're rougher, etc. Keep beating them up, @spitfiredealer

Meant to say thanks @spitfiredealer - so excited for these

UHR is definitely crispier, more coarse then XHS. Much stiffer too. The indigo is a lighter shade and the weave is tighter. Fades super quickly with high contrast and mad creasing patterns.

I can't wait to finally have a pair. Sounds like just what's missing from my IH line up

They sound feckin epic

Guess at this point I just need to decide which fit to go with. Been thinking 634, but 888 is a maybe. Any idea yet which cut y'all are rolling out first? One at a time, or in groups?

I'm thinking 777 or 888 for me…

@popvulture It will most likely be first come, first up! We'll have no idea for a while yet though as they've just gone into production.
@Oaktavia I had the 777 on the last batch, deffo 555 this time round!
