Ultra Heavy Raw (UHR), AKA 21/23oz Denim
-
I’m hyped. I think the UHR may be my next project pair.
-
UHR is back *for a limited time only
-
666 for me, if the measurements work out. The nice thing about UHR is that the dims often come up a little big, and the shrinkage gives one room to play around.
Per @Simon 's pre and post measurements from earlier in the thread though, it looks like these don't have too much in the way of shrink, no? I feel like this is a good thing, but it might affect your wiggle room.
-
Any plans for a UHR jacket or anything else besides jeans? Someone is asking me on IG…
-
Okay thanks G
-
No, nothing else planned, Jackets are effectively impossible to construct out of UHR for instance…..

Standard UK washing machine, 40c (104F) at 400RPM for 60mins
Tag 34 IH-777-UHR Sample
I washed these on a 60 degree and got another half a inch in length shrink. Waist came in too.

@spitfiredealer hell yeah — thanks for posting that, man!
That’s wild that you got that much more shrinkage. Guess cos of the agitation from the machine wash? I think the other one was a soak. This is all super useful. Cheers

The recommended method with UHR is to soak first, then wash. This because it is loomstate. The soak activates the cotton fibres and embeds the stitching, the wash gets the shrinkage out.
-
I would like to point out washing them as harshly as I did is probably not recommended. I did get some marks from the wash. I only do this because my jeans get stupidly dirty so need it and I know I will fade all the marks out in pretty short amount of time.
-
Wow @spitfiredealer! I was already sold, but now I'm really sold.

Epic af @Jcaz6996
How you liking them?

Love them @henry_david looking forward to seeing how theses evolve in the coming months.
