Going to work today felt weird. The last time I felt this “irrelevant“ was when we had the first COVID lockdown.
This empty feeling, when people are being bombed in the Ukraine and
I’m just sitting there on my office chair, drinking coffee, staring at the screen, thinking:
“What are you even doing here?”Engineering is what I am supposed to, when I'm in office.
So Engineering is what I did. I might not be paid for this specific job,
but it helped me draw my attention from feeling useless
to actually doing something. It will find a place at home, where it will remind me,
that piece and freedom are not to be taken for granted.
and that there's people defending it with their lives.I am incredibly happy to have a safe job (and that is also fun), be healthy
and have a community where i can talk freely. Like this place!Stay safe
and spread love

Is that an FDM 3D printer? I never had too much luck with any 3D printers I have ever used. I want one of those Form Labs printers with the auto-leveling printing surface. But that is not in the cards for me any time soon.
Much like you are feeling, I am feeling too. This is why I quit my job recently. I hope you feel better soon @weftyarn

Taking a break from Logistics…Just a mustachioed man and his s’mores chocolate chip cookie with a closet fulla IH. Moved into guest room and dedicated this closet to IH. Y’all.

Great pics y’all! I just got a little 18mm pancake side angle for my Fuji in the mail today. Perfect project to futz around with it

Thanks for a grand first day everyone. This is all about sharing a bit of our every day lives and I've enjoyed the pics and stories tremendously.
I had some options for mine. I'm working on a university paper at the moment as well as building a new entré for the manor ( ahem ). I've been spending my free time with the noods @Matt sent me, but I don't think we need to get into that. Although, thanks buddy
I'm going for a pic from last night where a very large portion of my closest family gathered to eat my pizza, drink my beer, but most importantly watch LFC win the League Cup… Glorious.
As for the IH reference, nr.1 son is wearing it.... @hajduk

Oh man, curious to see what you do with it. I’ve been lurking at that lens for quite some time now.
Which body are you using?

@weftyarnThat is correct, @Filthy It’s a semi-professional Delta FDM Printer. We use these a lot for orthopedic applications (e.g. printing test models to quickly check the fit of digitally designed custom orthoses).
They have an incredible cost to value ratio, but yeah, they’re also annoying to fiddle around with sometimes.
Auto bed leveling is one of the features I never want to miss on a printer.@Filthy:

My job is fun most of the time, so I won’t complain. But these days everything just feels absurd.
Thanks for your wishes, same goes for you!And in the meantime, let’s enjoy all these positive posts that are flying in

I'll have to whip something up and send it to you so you can print it. What file format does your printer recognize? G-code? STL? Proprietary? @weftyarn

Hometown is Indiana, PA. Mostly tell people I’m from Pittsburgh to skip explaining that the towns name is also a state name. It’s small and rural, but in a 10 minute drive I’m here and it’s absolutely beautiful. Enjoy this balancing act on a dock [emoji23]Wearing IH-76, Slubby Pronto Collabs, and Topo hiking boots.

I'm picturing @Fadez in one of those fighting games you can Ring Out roundhouse kicking someone into the water.
Very great picture though

Working on the farm. Not mine, it's my mom's in Minnesota(been helping out since I had lost my job with the pandemic so until I decide what the heck to do, I'll keep throwing hay.)
I bought the jeans 777 21oz SST right when I got here, hoping to give them their first wash when I leave. The IHSH-262-NAV has been a lifesaver this winter. There was one stretch it wasn't above -5°f for a week I think . 🥶 -
Heck!
Beautiful picture @Denimminer -

I live in Ohio now but I grew up with two hometowns. One in Alabama with my mom during the school year and another in Washington state with my dad during the summer. I recently returned to my Washington home to lay my dads ashes to rest. He passed 8 years ago and I wasn’t sure what to do with his ashes. Eventually not having done anything with them began to weigh on me and I finally decided he ought to have a plot and marker rather than sit in my closet. The trip was emotionally taxing but brought much needed closure. And it was nice to stop by and see some great makers like White’s, WESCO, Grease Point Workwear, and M.Crow. Plus a little hiking and fly fishing to break up the 5k miles of driving.
