From an Alt_Ring of Kerry (for those in the know) overnighter earlier this week..

I have a Moots Baxter which is more drop bar mountain bike as it can take 2.3 tyres. I am running mine with crossmax mountain bike wheels. Using a hybrid Di2 system with Grx levers paired with an XT mtb rear mech. Works nicely and can be configured via the Shimano software, I am running mine with upshifts on both left hand levers and downshifts on the right hand levers.
