How many jeans/ pants in your rotation??
-
Howdy folks!! Welp, it’s happened to me! When we all got into this hobby we heard the concept of fewer, well made things! Our money will be better served and saved by purchasing well made clothes that we need less of that will last us so much longer. Meaning, we only need one pair of jeans that we can beat the hell out of and wear in every part of our lives!!!
Ok, well, fast forward to (my) reality!! I started with some Tellason jeans. Quickly graduated to some 21oz ODs, 888Ds, and some 888XHS!!! Soon I’ll “NEED” those beige Cords coming in the FW22! Gonna take me awhile to get to those sweet fades at this point!!
Perhaps this has been discussed in another thread…apologizes in advance if that’s the case…but I’m wondering what’s in you jeans/ pants rotations? How do you spread out the love?
Hope y’all are well!!

I totally get where you’re coming from here. I was of the same mind that a pair (or two) would be my end destination. That ship quickly sailed. Still like to think the pieces I own now are part of minimizing the “disposable” clothing I used to own. That being said, I rotate some 14oz, 18oz, 21oz, 21ozL and some ducks depending on weather and season and I’m pretty satisfied (UHR’s in the future though [emoji51]).

It’s fun to wear one pair consistently to see the progress but it is a challenge. I have a lot of respect for the people who manage to go multiple years in a single pair.

I feel the same way and am always impressed with how good people's jeans end up looking compared to mine, which fade very slowly because I have too many. I've been selling some off for that reason, just whittling down to the ones I really want to beat up.
Right now I'm working on my 666-XHS and a pair of 666-SII I found in a bigger/better size for me in Reloved, which replaced an older pair I sold. Gonna try to focus real hard on my UHR once the weather cools off a little.
I have several other pairs of non IH jeans (Mr Freedom, Ooe, RMC) that aren't getting much wear at the moment, but I like em so I'm keepin' em.

Definitely think being a part of indigo invitational Y2 helps stick to one pair as you want to see what 1 whole year of wearing a pair of IH jeans will look like and same again with Y3. Just got to look at Hall of Fades those 666XHS are incredible hoping mine turn out like that.
I try my other pairs on from time to time check they still fit lol -
I mean, the real pro tip is to just sleep in your jeans like @Filthy . That's the most ingenious solution I've come across. You could always bring on a fading intern
-
I slept in my FGL-19L last night as a matter of fact.
-
Man I would totally do that but I run hot and basically boil if I wear anything while I sleep. I often question why the fuck I moved from a cold-ass place to an equally opposite hot-ass place ::)

Oooh, good thread!
I've got the following on steady rotation:
-
IH-888XHS
-
IH-888XHSbb
-
IH-888d
-
Samurai S520XX18oz-SB Arakage
-
Orslow slim fatigue pants
And once a week, I hike in my Pronto x Iron Heart PIH15AN.
The 888XHS and Samurai S520XX18oz get the most love, but they all have a great spot in the wardrobe.

I have several pairs on consistent rotation at this point—too many to really see results.
463 get the most, because the fit is golden.
777D
801 black
814
814blk
888SST
816 navy duck
PIHDCTThere’s some other pairs kicking around that see wear occasionally, and other brands almost never that I don’t part with. Needless to say, I have a big closet. Not a ROman level closet…but still

@ROman doesn’t have a closet, it’s an archive.
I’m currently going to my summer weight 888 Eco selvedge. When I find myself suffering from single pair fatigue it swap them out for my Pronto slubs, Beatle Busters, 777D and 777SBG. When the weather turns I’ll get back into my DR cargos.
I’m definitely getting the Anniversry jeans in September and am on the fence about some UHR. In the past year I sold off some UHR, XHS and 18oz double indigo all with the intention of replacing with newer models.
My summer jeans typically get the most consistent wear because I usually have fewer pairs of light weight jeans. My TW666 were faded pretty good. Sold them too.

@goosehd the heat is currently on par with the rest of the world. That is to say hot and muggy. It’s usually very dry here and pleasant in the shade and at night but we’re having a pretty active monsoon season so it’s much more humid than usual. Fall, winter and spring are no problem at all for XHS and UHR.
-
For those of you who live in the warmer/muggier places in the world (ie. southern USA), what jeans do you like for the summer months? Does not have to be IH.
-
I have mainly 4 pairs in rotation. 14,21,25 and UHR. During summer my main pair is the 14oz which I really love. In addition a couple of chinos for the office.
During the other three season I really rotate regularly.
I always love to have a nice crisp fresh unfaded pair available
