WESCO-MRLOU-PUR - Wesco® - 10" Horsehide "Mister Lou" - "The Purpetrator"

@John Galt ill speak with Wesco later today and get clarification on this. The Shop may be using a different last to standard on their Vintage Dream, or it may be the case that it’s all changing. I’ll update here as soon as I know the score.
-
@Chesson - I think it goes without saying that the old or existing last sizing is preferred if given the option for most of us who have Mr Lou’s and know their sizing. There’s always that uneasy feeling in preordering a boot when haven’t worn the given size previously. Hoping to not have to change it up for this one. Thanks! John

The last is not changing, so go with your usual size.

@Chesson - Excellent! Thanks much for checking. Glad this one remains the same previously known sizing. Any information on if the size change was only for that particular The Shop Vancouver boot or is there a future Mr Lou sizing change coming at some point? Thanks! John
-
@John Galt - The Vintage Dream is a different fit to a standard Mister Lou, the reason for this is that build has a lower heel and toe profile, which was needed to emulate that 3GKnuk look that they are they were after. The Shop Vancouver has now updated their product page as the info was a little confusing. There are no plans at all to change the fit of the Mister Lou, Wesco went through a lot of prototyping to get that boot right and eliminate the heel slip that you get with a standard Boss/Engineer boot. It's now one of theirs and our most popular models.

@Chesson - That is very good to hear. I was slightly bummed if having to experiment with a new size. Thanks much for following up on the sizing and eliminating the confusion. Greatly appreciate the great customer experience, as always! John

Wesco sizing is still perplexing. Now, I hear they are changing their "last" sizing, pray tell?

@Chesson responded to a sizing/last question that is very similar to your question. Does this help?

These are great, I need a pair. Really though, shouldn’t there be a purple jacket, so we can match?

As someone unfamiliar with Wesco sizing, but absolutely in love with these boots, What are my best options for securing a pair that fits correctly?
Full disclosure my only other boots are a pair of Red Wing 6'' Mocs in a size 13 (US) (the Red Wing Employee informed me that one of my feet is a 12.5 and the other is a 13 when measured with the fancy computerized fit machine)
I suppose to narrow it down my question is two fold. Should I go with a custom last here to ensure they fit properly (if that is even possible for a guy with big feet) / Should I measure/ buy a Brannock device/ compare with other shoes and boots I own?
Thank you all in advance.

Hi @mbvanek - The best option if you are unsure is to go for a custom last, even more so if you have slightly different-sized feet.
As a stock size we have only been running these up to a 12 (US), I can double check with Wesco to see if they do have the last for a 13 which would be where I would advise going if you didn't want to go down the custom last route.

I must say it’s for me the same never will or have the opportunity to try on a pair of mister lou’s
Simpley cause no one carries them in NL. I have a 9,5US in width d in my blacksmiths and moc toe(6”) what will be the best size in this Wesco’s? -

That wasn’t the wild. It was a zoo [emoji16].

So presumably a custom last would not be an issue even if it means the boots run a bit larger than stock sizing? If that is the case I will likely go the custom route. Thanks @Chesson
