It is a well known fact 55's are the greatest cut ever, but hey, the future shall decide 55's cut or beatle busters, but I'm pretty sure these will be the biggest selling jeans for IH

first post. excellent. 55 isn´t nearly as popular as 47 or 66, but hey, who even cares ?
and btw - having different cuts is one of the blessings of IH growing. so many different kind of shapes and legs out there that chances are you will find the one that suits you best. simple as that, and not a competition -
I'm definitely on for 1 pair of those… Will we spoiled customers be treated to an OD'd version of those??? I am asking because I need to know how big my next closet might need to be.

Ah Beatle since you are self confessed Non Retro fan (and the key word your looking for here is Vintage) I can tell you that the '47 was floored in design with tighter thighs and narrow seat (which some may like) but lets stick to the facts shall we since you are tossing them out. Allow me. The 47's were only in circulation for seven years and gangs and rock n roll had not yet formed as US infantry had only been back for two years the jeans were not truly tested on a the youth market. It was with the '55 that the cut was pretty much assembled and tested by the most influential figures of the 20th century and it lasted 11 years, and it was Levis highest selling jean of all time bar none. If sales figures are not your thing, note the 66's only lasted three years until they were cancelled, this was due to Levis coming in late into the mod scene with a tight straight leg cut and by that stage in London the wide hem was already born and blossoming. The 55's were highly sought after from collectors from about 1977 and onwards a pair of deadstock '66 may fetch $400 today whereas a deadstock pair of xx55's will fetch in excess of $3000. Hope this helps.

634s are the gate way drug if you just can not wait. Get them to hold you over & help the shakes to subside.
By the time the '55s hit the market you will be ready for a re-up & a different dosage of that 21 oz medicine

Good idea.
You can't go Super Black with out getting a "Riders Jacket" to go along.
-
this 55 cut made with 23 oz anniversary denim would be a dream come true
