I experienced mushroom poisoning many years ago, and I'm not talking about the psilocybin producing varieties. It was extremely unpleasant, to the point where I started to think death would be preferable.
I still love mushrooms a lot. 'Amateur poisoners' not so much.
Edit: This post is just a friendly warning to anyone who is thinking of doing some amateur mushroom hunting, or is offered wild mushrooms. In my case, the person who collected them was well known to me and insisted they were safe to eat. Several people were badly poisoned and it could have been deadly for a child or elderly person.

There are at least three types of mushrooms growing on our pile of decaying woodchips we use for mulching our gardens. And snails. I think one is a wood ear but I'm not certain. That's the kind of mushroom found in hot and sour soup but I dare not. I didn't take photos of the third kind because they were not so pretty. Beer for scale.

I think this is “Amber Jelly”. Found it in the yard playin pick-up-stix.
-
@WhiskeySandwich thats cool
-
@Oaktavia cool looking, but pretty gross when you unexpectedly grab a handful of it lol. The texture was like wet gummy bears.

The fungus amungus—-
-
@dinobarnesberlin that sure looks like chicken of the woods...
-
That explains what I saw ---- there were big sections that had been cut off. I bet people cut some of it to eat.
I just thought it looked like deformed Halloween candy corn. -
@dinobarnesberlin yes indeed, and there are no lookalikes that have that coloration. There is a mushroom known as jack o' lantern that is also orange but looks pretty different.

I found some chicken of the woods the other day, as well
It’s the coral tooth stuff that really gets me excited, though…. So tasty! Ollie’s good at spotting those ones
Some giant puffballs around, too….
