IHM-20 - Overdyed 14oz Indigo Denim M65

Well I'm with @Stuart.T on this one. I still can't wrap my head around how/why people size down on their jackets but different body types like you said I guess. I find that sizing up or going normal size works perfect for me on IH jackets. No way in hell I could size down.

The sizing down thing confuses me too but i'm basing this on the fact that Sam, Adam and Giles all sized down from their usual size. But, could be that this is with just a tee underneath. The M65 isn't a full blown winter coat for me so I'd at least need to be able to wear a flannel underneath if it gets in the 40's or 50's. Guess i'll wait til more people get these and report in on fit

I would not be able to size down as the shoulders are pretty Slim on this. I already find the IHM08 tight (size XL) and the IHM20 is about an Inch smaller.

@gaseousclay that's what I really love about this jacket. It fits close enough to wear with a tee or flannel without looking oversized, but I can wear a sweat/hoodie or type III without it looking too tight or getting that tight pulling on the upper arms/shoulders. But as you say, that's for me, others may well vary.
Bottom line, f'ing great jacket IH!

Sorry the pics aren't great. My wife doesn't buy into the men's clothing forum thing, I think she believes I'm in a gay chat room! Hence the poor selfies.

Thanks for the nice comments about the jacket folks.
Worn out for the first time today. The hem drawstring nicely pulled the bottom of the jacket in and in effect shortened it but without any bunching or blousing.
So IH…any news on those buttless chaps I enquired about?

@Stuart.T Glad you're happy with your purchase. The sizing issue is definitely a personal preference and dependent on body type but also how one intends to wear a piece of clothing - ie. layering vs not layering. I have the od bsp type III from SE and I had to size up on that one to an xl because of the od shrinkage, so it's essentially a size large. It was mainly about the fit in the chest for me, which for jackets has to fall in the 22" to 22.5" range. The od M65 size medium comes in at 22.5" for the chest which is about perfect, as well as the sleeve length and body length. My only concern would be the shoulders and whether or not they feel constricting. Should I buy the M65 in the future I would only wear it in the Spring and Fall since it's far too cold to wear as a winter jacket in my neck of the woods.

PM me…
I think I'd break the internet if I posted a selfie wearing buttless chaps…and not in the Kim Kardashian way!
In all seriousness, great jacket Giles and crew. There's been a small amount of the expected dye leaching. Any advice,? A medium warm soak?

Wait…this isn't a gay chat room?!

No wonder so many of my PM's get ignored….

I couldn't possibly kiss and tell.
I'm going to stick without a soak. Time will pay the usual dividends. Note to self, don't sit on my folks cream sofa.
