What do you want to see from Iron Heart Racing?

@Ranchhand:
Well you crunch the numbers of jeans sold each month. And make 50% less of them. You have a brand that is niche market. The outlet encourages the kids to wait it out because they can’t afford IH. That is hurting you. Also stores like self edge and rivet and hide are obviously hurting you. They watch your store and see what is selling THEN they order that stuff. So you are holding the bag on the experimental garments. Also no more collabs. It’s a waist of time and money. Too many choices turns customers away “ I’ll just wait and see what’s next” if you have a “ look book”. For the season and only have limited numbers of the items folks won’t be waiting to see if somthing better is coming along. They will just know what they can get. And they want it
Sounds like you have a winning formula all the kids want. What's holding you back from creating your own denim brand?

@Ranchhand:
Don’t ask me what I think if you don’t really want to know. If the whole concept Is based on “ the youth HD rider in USA “. Someone did not do the research. Look at every comment here from HD and motorcycle folks we are all saying the same thing. That market does not exist.
I’m done here.I dunno. I hate to label someone as a troll but you're close to hitting that mark. You also do not run a successful business, let alone an international business that sells to many demographics (and not just motorcyclists).
How IH runs it's business is not new. IH retail partners are assuming the same risks as everyone else when they pick something up. The Outlet is a means for IH to sell unsold or slow selling merch without sitting on all that inventory. And this idea that everyone everywhere will be wearing IH is absurd. Not many people can afford $350 shirts or $500 jackets in this economy. I live in a big city and have not seen a single person wearing IH. I know they exist but IH clothing is still a niche market.

I’m glad you guys are pointing out the inaccuracies and flaws in that post. There were so many that I got exhausted at the prospect of pointing them out. Thank you [emoji5]

I think he’s funny

Maybe I don't get out much, but in the 13 years that I have been involved with Iron Heart. Apart from Iron Heart arranged parties/get togethers/events, I have only seen one person wearing Iron Heart in the wild and that was in Japan 4 years ago.
For me @Giles saw a guy at a Bruce Springsteen concert at Hershey PA. wearing IH 301s. Also saw a guy wearing Flat Head jeans at the King of Prussia mall.

I disagree with most of what Ranchhand is saying, but I also disagree that he’s being a troll. His opinion may not be a popular one, but he’s not being unreasonable about making his points. It’s his opinion, and he obviously has concerns about the brand which at least to him are valid concerns. And they’re coming from a perspective of wanting to keep the brand pure and focused on what drew him to the brand to begin with, so it’s not like he’s hating on the brand. Let’s not all jump all over him for expressing his opinion just because we disagree. Just my two cents…

Everyone’s entitled to their two cents, without a doubt. I’m not sure he’s trolling either, in the sense that he’s deliberately trying to upset people, but he is by defintion being unreasonable. That is to say his opinions lack reasoning and don’t really stand up to reasoned argument.
Initially he was challenged on some of his opinions, in a reasonable way. He’s doubled down and started making quite unreasonable statements.
I suggest we all leave it alone now. Show’s over. The thread has been derailed slightly and is supposed to about what we hope to see, or might see from IHR, not about whether IHR is a good idea or not.

If Ranchhand has a point, it'd be to target more than just Harley riders. I think that the Iron Heart Racing aesthetic could fit into the wider retro / custom scene, and I could see the gear working on my Thruxton.
I'd like to see more technical gear from Iron Heart Racing, that offers protection as well as aesthetics. The trouble with that is armour really throws off the line of a jacket.
One option would be to build it around an armoured shirt. Knox have a layering system, where a jacket has a zip in the armpits and down the side to resize it when you don't need protection.
Dyneema denim might be another thing to consider. Saint in Melbourne do a range. But I'm not sure how hard it'd be to get your workshops to adapt.
Incidentally, I really like the kinda Type III jacket that was posted on Instagram. I'm tempted by that one.
