IHSH-196- Indigo Check Western Shirt
-
@gaseousclay I sure hope SE doesn't sell out instantly. And if they do, I hope I am one of the chosen few lol
@madmoses I stand corrected. It looks like SE was updating their inventory when I checked their site earlier. Now the 195 is showing up as fully stocked. In other words, if you check SE's site daily i'm sure the 196 will pop up and you'll be able to nab one. I love the look of the 196 but i'm passing because the ihj-69 is calling my name

It is helpful to know that the fabric on the workshirts is not exactly the same, lighter in color. I prefer darker generally.
Here’s a work shirt/western comparison. Western on top. Basically the two shades of indigo used are reversed in the pattern.
Thanks. I was able to get this shirt - the Western - from Rivet and Hide and it came in yesterday - beautiful. The work shirt is nice too, but for my tastes this was the must have. The white buttons add a nice touch too.

-chest: 22.75"

-length: 30.25"
-sleeve: 26.25"
-waist: 21.25"Pretty much spot on with the fit guide.

@appfaff , I am curious if this shirt will shrink if I wash and dry heat. My main concern is to shrink chest ptp

I have not washed mine yet, but I would not expect much shrink. It’s been one washed, and I remember with the IHSH-38 the fabric never really shrunk much. With that being said, I’m sure a hot dryer and warm water will shrink it down a bit if needed.

I soaked my cuffs in boiling hot water today and they didn't shrink very much, if at all. Probably not at all.

I’m glad you got to pick one up. Nice score. Are you in the UK?
No, in the US. I got this shirt from Rivet & Hide because they were available in my size then. They aren't now though. Many people in the US will not have been to your website or Rivet & Hide and they could go just as quickly at Self Edge once they post them.
Every now and then you see something you really want. This fit the bill, so I didn't take any chances.
Recent history - I'm still mildly irritated I don't have the long-sleeve indigo Studio Artisan t-shirt. When i got the short sleeve a year ago, i was like "this is beautiful if a little heavy, but the long sleeve in this fabric would be perfect." Only Okayama Denim actually did put the long-sleeve one on sale at 4:00 am my time and my size was gone by the time I woke up.

So some of you guys know that I'm weird and habitually iron (w/ steam) all of my IH gear. I prefer the crisp look on my shirts and jeans, and learned years ago that high heat and a little steam can counteract the slight shrinkage that continuous washing can bring to your favorite gear.
While I do not always see increases in measurements after an iron (w/ steam), I notice that the flannels almost always have a good bit of room to grow, especially after a wash.
I too hot steam iron my shirts, and jeans when new for the first wash or two, and have had similar results, with a slight increase in measurements. Most fabrics, especially some of IH's heavier shirting fabrics, benefit from a hot steam iron.
