IH-888S-SB - 21oz Non-Fade Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut - SpBlack

Loving these. Possibly my favorite piece of Iron Heart I own, went for a 35, instead of a 34 which I am normally, noticed the 35 measurements were a little closer to my other pair of 888s. Very happy to own a pair of black Iron hearts that I love.

A thought occurs: Being that these are quite a bit higher rise than the 666s I usually wear (these are about 11.5”, 666 is usually about 10” for my size), would it be advisable to size down for the waist since they’ll be sitting higher up? Which for my waist is a bit narrower once I get over the hips. I love this fabric and I’d like to try this cut, still unsure if I should go for the 29 or 30 though. I see that a couple of posters have opted to size up which confounds me even further. ???

I think it depends on whether you think the waist or the thigh is the limitation.
-
Thighs definitely aren't a limitation, I can generally go as low as about 10.5" in the thigh. Thighs on these are a bit larger than what I normally wear but I don't mind. Waist is more of a concern, usually get as close to 29" as I can in most denims so they'll stretch to about 30".

I sized down on my IH-888-UHR after I had to flip my IH-888S. The 888S were ordered TTS (with waist stretch accounted for) but came up too big in the waist, imho because of the higher rise sitting at a slimmer part of the body. The sized down pair work perfectly in the waist.

@Dystopia they look great on you and go well with the CF Shirt of course.

I only sized up cause I went TTS on the 888s and the 35 on these seemed closer to the 34 on those in my opinion.

I went one-size-up from my typical 32 (bought a size 33) and it fit like magic - except, I'm used to wearing my jeans a lil' below my waist and that combined with the high rise gave me diaper-butt. I just don't think that I can adult enough to wear pants at my waist. I have since ordered a 32 with slightly larger measurements than posted. The 33 is currently for sale in the buying/selling thread.

Hot damn Adam looks sharp as fuck

That is a fantastic fit!

@Giles its all good, if I do purchase I will get the size 42, it seems like the closest to a 55 cut. This is the only Jean I would pay $360 for because of the colorfastness. I have the PBJ indanthrene in 14 oz, they're cool but not like these. I like the weight of these for the winter months where 14oz wont cut it.

My pair just arrived, fantastic pair of jeans. Definitely glad I went with the 29 instead of 30. They're a bit snug in the waist but after they stretch a little they'll be perfect. As I suspected, the slightly narrower waist definitely works with the higher rise. Was also a bit concerned how the thighs would look on my skinny frame but they look great, definitely have an Elvis drainpipe kind of vibe. I have the matching Riffblaster jacket, just gotta get a white/black IHTB-01 to complete the look.

Hello,
Just got these a few days ago and here are my thoughts.
Just for reference I am 5.8 @ 165lbs athletic build . The Size I got is a 34 tag size and the jeans i reference it to was my 633S with 32W tag size.I have never owned a high rise pair of jeans and i am trying to get used to the look and feel of it. I was aware of the measurements but did not realize how much room the top block of these would be in person. I believe that the stiffness of the jeans accentuates the extra fabric look of the butt portion. But then after a few nights of looking at photos of high rise denim i see a similar trend and I am a little bit at ease of how they sit on my body. Ive attached a few photos with as much lighting to see how it really looks with no post process since photos I've found here doesn't really show how it sits with unflattering lighting and having the shirt tucked in.
Can anyone comment on the fit on me.
I am aware that these are relatively new but hopefully someone could share some light if these could be shrunk a tad using a dryer.
Overall bottom line I love the jeans. In direct sun light it looks Superb and robust. Quality is top notch The feel even in Los Angeles Summer weather is livable and the crispness of the fabric is so tolerable maybe because of the cut and extra room. Finally customer service and delivery time from iron heart is golden. Reminds me of how the japanese companies deal with there customers…
cheers,
john
