@sabergirl makes an interesting observation, so I ask: could pants be made of a material like this moleskin?  And would that be a good idea?  (Currently I'm living in some 25oz 777s 'cause I need something to hold me up…)

Pants are definitely possible. I own a few pairs of Freewheelers moleskin pants.  I would prefer IH. 816 cut agreed.  Color I could go for most.

Backed - but maybe a different colour than the other 816s?.. Rust orange/ sienna brown-ish?..

That's why you proofread.  I guess the "Talk to text" function on my phone isn't too familiar with moleskin; however, it seems all too familiar with "most skin." Not sure if that says something more about me or the technology.
