Body proportions. The westerns have a larger shoulder measurement compared to chest measurement.  They work great if you have a relatively flat a v-shaped upper body. The yokes add some visual interest to your otherwise flat torso and you don’t get extra material anywhere.

I have a fat barrel shaped body thanks to all the beers I’ve consumed in the last two months [emoji23]
