IH-888-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Ind/blk

The electric blue is amazing on these. Today they seem to really become more relaxed for me. I won't be wearing any other denim till it gets too hot for these. So a solid 3 months probably.
Once I can get in and out of all the pockets without thought, then they are broken in for me….ha.
-
Ha yea, plunging my hand into the pocket feels like a steel cable scraping against the back of it.
-
This hotel has a big mirror. So I took some pictures. They suck. But you can get an idea of the fit.
-
You're gonna get some great honeycombs, man!
I've been curious to ask, since you travel a lot, what is it that you do, if you don't mind me asking.
These are the most epic honeycombs i've had on a pair of jeans ever. The knees are tight as fuck on this pair. If I was to have sized down I probably wouldn't have been able to put them all the way on or get them off once I did. Thanks.
I work in power plants and refineries. If you go a page or 2 back in the Random Announcements thread I gave a brief explanation of what I do.

STACKS AHOY!

Found it! Interesting stuff! I hope you don't mind the travel, it sounds like you're on the road a lot.
I've gotta say that these are my favorite pair of jeans in a long time, and I don't think it's just because they're the newest pair. Is it stupid that I actually look forward to wearing these? They've just got that great combination of heavy denim, great taper, and unusually dark color. If this fabric were made into a Type III, I'm afraid my wallet would be completely helpless.

Amen to all that brother. Same. You'd have to settle for a type III vest though. It is impossible to join that thick of denim at the sleeves and underarm. The thickness of the lump on the back yoke of the jeans would give you an idea of what I am talking about.
It is too thick to get through the machine…. I am hoping they are going to hear my pleas for a vest though.
Edit: also I am reluctant to say anything negative publicly about my job. I mean, I am super grateful that I have this job. But the travel really sucks and the work most of the time is a major bitch. It is not a job for the faint of heart.
-
Ah, that's unfortunate about the job and the travel, then But yeah, you're right to be thankful for the work, even if it's not always great.
That makes sense about the thickness of these and sleeves. I don't think I've ever seen a 25oz type III, now that you point that out. Maybe I could become a vest guy…LOL
-
I am very fortunate to have my job so it is not unfortunate. I never thought I would amount to anything. I flunked out of college and used to be on drugs, and homeless. I am not rich by any means. But I make enough to get by and take care of my 2 cats, and my elderly mother. I'm doing better than I ever thought was possible. I make like 3x as much as the average person does working a whole year for about 6 full months of work. The best thing about my job is that I don't have to work all the time. I have been off pretty much since November. :)))
-
Dang, that's some solid off-time! And it allows you to buy some super fantastic denim! It sounds like you do have a lot to be thankful for! And good on you for taking care of your mom like that, I'm in a similar boat with mine.
An ex-manager of mine went and worked on one of those crab boats in Alaska when he was 19 or so. Said he made ridiculous money but it was something like two straight months of work. He only had to work something like four months a year but had to work extremely hard during those months. He's quite possibly the most interesting man I've ever met.
-
Yeah I know. I am very grateful for this job. I would love to work on a boat like that or something even more dangerous. But I am 40 and I ain't getting any younger.
What do you do Paul?
-
Ha, 38 myself…I'm almost there!
I'm in the computer biz. I basically maintain the servers and network for a marketing co. It can be hectic but even when it is, I'm sitting on my butt in front of a computer. No complaints, rarely an interesting story, and, thankfully, I get to work from home a couple of times a week. And it allows me to buy some dope pants

Nice! Being in IT do you ever watch those YT videos of guys who put syskeys and Trojans on the scam call centers computers? They are pretty funny.

Ha, can't say that I have! Got a link?
I do watch The IT Crowd and Silicon Valley. Silicon Valley is crazy accurate, and hilarious. Check it out if you get the chance
-
There are hundreds of these now. But they are pretty funny
-
@Filthy thanks for that explanation on the shiny jeans. I wanted to reply much sooner but work keeps getting in the way. Just got my pair of these hemmed so hopefully will get my wife to take some fit pics today and I can post.
-
Looking forward to it.

Picked mine up on Friday. Gave them a bathtub soak at about 50C for one hour with a little agitation. Here are the numbers:
New Post soak
W: 33.4" 32.7"
FR: 12.2" 12"
BR: 16.5" 16.1"
TH: 13.4" 12.9"
KN: 9.3" 9"
HE: 8.1" 7.9"
IN: 32.6" 31.9"Pretty pleased with that. There may be more shrinkage with a proper wash in the machine but that will be the agitation rather than the temps as I will never wash these above 40C, the point being it won't be much at all. Fit pics on Monday.
This is tremendous denim. It has the dry, matte, inky characteristics of SBG with the edge taken off by the indigo. The way the XHS is so saturated with dye is more of game changer than I though it would be as far as the appearance and feel of the denim is concerned (when compared to the standard 25oz).
