Simmons Bilt leadtimes

Hi
Anybody know lead times of Simmons Bilt jackets?I emailed them, and I thought I'm going to get ans answer quite soon, but no,.,… (quite soon = in few hours)
Is NOT answering e-mails their policy? I would think they would like to have every customers money, when it's offered...

@injunjack They’re in Scotland, UK, (at time of writing it is 0645 there), so a few hours might be a stretch if you hit them outside of opening hours.
@Filthy had a jacket from them recently. The process, including lead times on the SB thread.

They are a small company and Steve and Debs often work late into the night actually making jackets. They recently lost their website for a few days as it was hacked and moved and they had no access to it, they have had a shitty few weeks. If you need an immediate response, their phone number is on their home page.
They are one of the nicest couples in the business and they make great stuff. We all want stuff now, but sometimes waiting for a little while makes fuck all difference…

They also just went to Santa Fe to support the opening of the new Standard & Strange store with a custom jacket trunk show.
I know they left on Monday evening, and I know that to get there they had a 36 hour travel 'day' with multiple flights and a long bus journey so assuming they had a similar return, I suspect they will get back to you later today or tomorrow.

It took Debs 3 days to get back to me at first. Then the jacket took from Jan 11th to May 17th.. 100 percent worth it.

I had one made through Standard and Strange and it took about eight weeks, maybe a little less even. The type of jacket ordered, the availability of materials, and so on could have impacted the time it took for @Filthy or even myself. Who knows. What I do know is that both leather jackets I own are from them and they are beyond anything I ever expected.

4 months lead time??? Seriously? Winter will be over…damn...
I don't own anything from Simmons Bilt, or any leather jacket for that matter, but I think 3-4 months is reasonable for a bespoke leather jacket.

I wouldn't say it's bespoken, regular measurements… maybe it is, I dunno...

When you take into consideration the number of products they sell and to whom they're selling I think it's reasonable to assume that it takes time to make their jackets, whether it be stock jackets or custom jackets for a retailer like Standard & Strange. Their jackets aren't cheap so they have to make sure the fit is right for the customers, otherwise, this would lead to returns which is counterproductive and costly.

I did have special extra heavy black sheepskin so this impacted the time by 2-3 weeks.

Aren't all Simmons Bilt made to order regardless of custom measurements or not? For a small company that is growing in popularity and filling more larger retailer orders I don't think 3-4 months is unreasonable for a jacket to be made. If you need it now I suppose you could ask them if any of their stockists carry the jacket you want.
