HAYIT - How Are You Isolating Today.
-
Haha, well, he had me fooled!
I'm feeling a bit better about my current situation. I've been laying low in my office/lab 100 miles offshore for the last 19 days. After much uncertainty, I received confirmation this morning that I'll be able to start my trek home Monday morning. I've been given a "hall pass" of sorts to make the 500 mile drive from Louisiana back to Austin so things are at least looking up.

My girlfriend's company has part of her team working from home today. One of her colleagues had a power outage, so he's come over here to borrow our electricity and internet.
So there's a Brit, a Ugandan, and a Jordanian here. I think that we're winning today's diversity sweepstakes.

Lovely family photos @Cole and @neph93 - can't imagine how tough it must be keeping the kids occupied and using up all that energy that we envy!
Since we were able to re-integrate with Alex and Kira last Friday (14 days after coming home from Japan) it's been lovely, I am now living (isolating) with 3 excellent and enthusiastic cooks - amazing home made bread, banana cake, curries, breakfast burritos - last night Kira's scrumptious fish tacos. Suffice to say, if we don't watch out, when international travel opens up again G and I will need to book 2 seats… each.
So today I set Giles a challenge - "stairing each other out" - which means we have to climb from the lower ground floor to the top floor, marking up the score sheet on the top landing each day to keep tally of our efforts. Today's results:
In all fairness, Giles has been at IHUKHQ today doing the hemming, and is now cooking (again), so I guess we need to review results in a week or so (and if I never post more about this, you'll know we're both a couple of lazy, fat feckers)

Pity me please, I am stuck with him at home 24/7 ::)
