IH-526J-22OD - 22oz Selvedge Denim Type III Jacket - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
I don’t know how many of these have been sold but I’m going to try a populate this thread often over the next few years. The plan is to wear this regularly over a single layer, then use it as a shirt, under the C3 vest or N-1 jacket in the colder months. There is also a very real risk of me getting the ivory/white N-1 vest from FW20 when they drop, just because I think it will look awesomeballs over this.

Now THATS a solid plan.
Will be interesting to watch it change in a year. -
@neph93 looks so awesome. I was thinking about getting this over the 19oz but I find that I don't wear my type IIIs if they don't have handwarmer pockets. Has that been an issue for you at all?

Has that been an issue for you at all?
Yes and no, but mostly no.
My first type III was old school, and I didn’t care about the lack of handwarmers. Since then I’ve had som type III jackets and vests that include handwarmers and have had some use for them. The actual pockets themselves I never use, not even for warming hands. However, I do like the internal pockets that the handwarmers create for sticking my phone in. All that being said, I carry a bag with me at all times so it really isn’t a problem.
At the end if the day, many of the modified type III’s come up too long for me too, so the combination of a cleaner look, and a better fit far outweighs the lack of pockets.

Pretty much the same for me, too. I only use the handwarmer pockets as a place to stick my fidgety hands. I have an "old school" 21oz type III, and I love the length and how the "top" pockets are much larger than the new versions with the handwarmer pockets. I just always find myself groping for them whenever I wear it out of habit. The length alone make me pick this one up instead of the 19oz version.

So tempting to try Double OD with my newly ordered 555-01od. Similar size with IH-526j old version? My 526j is Medium.

I think doubling up in OD is actually easier than doubling on indigo. I have two jackets, one CPO and two pairs of jeans in OD, all in different phases of wear rangling from well faded to brand new, and I wouldn’t hesitate to combine any of them.
As for sizing use the compare function on the site. I had a look for you and I would say the L in the IH-525-22OD comes closer to the IH-526j. But you should definitely have a look yourself.

This denim is drool worthy. Has this been the first OD of it’s kind? Really excited to see how it fades.
