(The Cool Kids All Wear) Band T-Shirts
-
Oh man this is a great thread idea. I need to dig out some of my old ones.
-
Okay, I dug through the bowels of my closet and dug up a few favorites.
(Sorry for the image heavy post). This is probably the oldest shirt I still own. It used to have long sleeves and was gotten from Neil Robinson at Tribal War records some time in the early to mid 90s.
I wish I had a few of my old Nausea shirts from this era. But they were either lost or stolen when I was homeless.
This is probably my next oldest, from Blue Grape mail order.
I traded for this shirt to the woman who ran Profane Existence in the late 90s. I remember having to call and send emails to get my shirts in return. I still wear this shirt today. It is 50/50 poly-cotton so it hasn't disintegrated yet.Another favorite that's so old I am afraid to wear it.
On the back:
Another oldie but goodie.
More old shirts. The Danzig one is ancient.
A bunch of DOOM shirts.
I was gonna take pictures of the front and backs of a lot more. But I got lazy.

Thank you. These bring back a lot of memories. It blows my mind to think some of the shirts are 30 years old.
@Oaktavia wins the thread so far with the Cannabis Corpse shirts lmao

That is funny because I was going to say the same to you, especially with the Doom collection and the Samhain. I coincidentally just picked up a Samhain pin in Richmond the other day.

Thanks a lot. I don't wear any of them anymore now that Antifa is so directly associated with terrorism. I mean, it always has been. But now you have to worry about getting into it with some alt-right bonehead or the police. There is a lot more weight to that stuff now than just noisy music.

Excellent collection @Filthy . I think my favorites are the Samhain shirt and the oldest Obituary shirt.

Understood, wise words.

Thanks @Palmer

If you like it there's nothing wrong with it. I've been listening to Mountain and Neil Diamond recently.

I’m a huge, huge Mountain fan as one of my biggest drumming influences is Corky Lang. Got to meet him once, and he was nice, but uncomfortable with my adulation for him. I was watching them play and he hit his snare so hard that his stick literally exploded, went flying in the air and landed by me,and I said to myself that’s how you play drums. Years later I had a friend who’s friend was friends with with Felix Papillardi’s girlfriend
,and she called him up and said Felix is cheating on me I’m gonna kill that fuck, which she did. Her lawyers asked him not to testify as he was the last person she called before she killed him.He went to jail for 2 weeks for Contempt of court, and she only got sentenced to Involuntary Manslaughter, since they couldn’t prove it was premeditated. Everyone has since passed away. They could never pin witness tampering on her lawyers. -
Thanks Reuben! It’s my favorite teenage band. Their live shows are so much fun. I got married on the year before this photo when they came to town. So I had to treat myself to some backstage tickets with a friend. Best idea ever. Met my hero’s. Got to okay with foam weapons and at the finale get killed onstage [emoji23]
