Watches - another OCD problem
-
Rolex have several new models that will be available at your local grey market dealer before too long.
The Yacht-Master is now available in RLX Titanium. Ben Ainslie was spotted wearing a prototype, but his was a non-date, and, alas, that didn't make it to production.
The new 1908 is their dress watch and looks really nice. This one is in white gold, not steel. It also features a display back, as does the new platinum Daytona, which is a first for Rolex.
They've also come up with a crazy dial for the Oyster Perpetual, which is far cooler than anything else they do.
Aside from that, the Daytona has a new movement, there's a 40 mm Explorer, and a few other minor revisions in the line.

The platinum Daytona has a display case back and Tudor made the black bay with a jubilee, different crow, bezel grip and a domed crystal.
Personally, I love what IWC did and I hope I can get my hands on one.

This is the coolest watch so far revealed in my opinion: Patek Philippe Calatrava 24-Hour Display Travel Time
-
My favourite piece so far is either the Chopard Alpine Eagle XPS.
Or the Czapek Antarctique Révélation
The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Moon Phase and Retrograde Date is also good.
And I really like the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph.
@goosehd glad you enjoyed the commentary.
@JDelage I didn't pay much attention to the Pateks. Most of them seemed rather gaudy, as though they're targeting Russian oligarchs at a time when they're sanctioned. The Calatrava travel time is good, though.

Rolex…what a disappointment. The 1908 could as well be a Longines and I dont get a display back on a Rolex. The crazy colors is kinda cool in a Peter Max vibe but will be unobtainable so who cares?
The GS chrono is beautiful but the styling isnt for me.
The Ing is amazing but has WTF pricing. Truly absurd.
I do like the VCs and the Alpine Eagle but not enough to save up for.

@Mizmazzle I’m guessing about 1mm larger than the 39mm model
-
@Anesthetist haha. Touché
Think the 39 has now been discontinued. I’ve only tried on the 36. I find a 40 to be the sweet spot for my liking!! -
@Mizmazzle sorry, I couldnt resist being a smart ass. In all seriousness, I love my 36mm Explorer and am trying to imagine it as the same size as my 40mm MK XVIII.
I think it will work and be a huge seller. -
@Anesthetist no worries broski. I can dish it and take it.
That’s cool to hear you like the conception of a explorer 40. I know it’s a watch that a lot of people get really fixated on it being the perfect size at 36 and it’s not to be fucked with. I was actually surprised at how well the dimensions of the 36 fit. In paper it seems so small. I’m real life it’s a hell of a nice fit! -
I think Jacob & Co trolls with intentionally garbage designs.
Got a Garmin Epix 2. Love it!
-
my favourite of the new announcements would have to be this so far.
-
@louisbosco agreed!! With that blue lume!! Gorgeous.
-
something about the jubilee bracelet just absolutely changes how this looks
-
Are you going to (attempt to) get one @louisbosco?
-
@Mizmazzle I did! Pretty amazing releases this year from Rolex. I've gotten so used to it being underwhelming... I've previously tried on the 39mm version and found it to be a touch to big for my wrist (6.75 inch) so I'm very happy with the classic 36mm size. But it's a great option for those with much larger wrists or someone who likes a bigger watch. Often the 39mm/40mm Rolex's wear a lot bigger than your average watch of the same size in my opinion. Having said that I LOVE the new Yacht Master (never thought I'd find myself be typing those words) if they do that in a 40mm I'd like that a lot. Are you in the market for an Explorer?
-
@Mr-Linz funny you should say that about the yacht mater. I think the new one looks pretty cool. I’m not a fan personally of titanium. I like my watches to have some heft. I am, however, in love with the blue dial red handed yacht master 40. I think that one is absolutely stunning.
