I just put my 2S14s through a hot wash and hot dry bc I wanted them to shrink. Very happy with results. Shoulders came in nicely and pointy tips are mostly gone. Sleeves tightened up like I wanted. Lost some body length which is fine. Could’ve done with a touch more shrink in the chest but overall very happy.

Last week I had to return an item to MbS and asked them, if there will be a restock of the heavy/13,4oz 2S14 t-shirts in some new colors as I love the charcoal and the brick one I bought last year. They answered that there will be „two nice seasonal colors in the upcoming spring/summer collection“!

Had a bit of an "oh shit" moment with my 2S14, realising I'd accidentally put it in the dryer. Til now I've been pretty careful, only washing it at 30C and never drying it.
When I realised what I'd done, I immediately removed it from the dryer. It'd been in for 2 hours (with another load) and was still a little damp. Tried it on and it had shrunk up quite a lot, but only vertically. I spent a few minutes stretching it vertically and was pretty rough with it, then left it to hang dry. I assumed i'd probably ruined the shirt, size-wise at least, but happy to say that it's basically the same size as it was pre-tumble. Only the neck opening is a little stretched, but this is because I was pretty vigorous with the stretching, and I expect it'll go back to normal with a wash. It's good to know that these shirts are more robust to washing/drying than I thought - they seem to maintain their stretchiness. Hope to get some more in the future.

@Oaktavia good call getting a nice range of some different weights— and colors for that matter.
Their sweat pants are calling me— maybe this fall:) -
@dinobarnesberlin Didn't know they have a store in Berlin. I am here until Monday, maybe I find it. I am staying at Potsdamer Platz.
-
@Dmart here is the one - https://merzbschwanen.com
They are in Mitte but I would say closer to Hackescher Market
Super easy to findAnd enjoy your damn self while you're in town !!

Their sweat pants are calling me— maybe this fall:)I just went and ordered the 7.1oz oversized fit purple blue T-shirt. Stoked on that color!
I was eyeing down the sweatpants too and I took a look at the old as heck pairs I have in my dresser and shook my head lol.
Edit: anyone have a 7.1oz shirt of theirs and care to comment?
-
@dinobarnesberlin thanks i will. I am here for the half marathon though.
-
@Oaktavia that color is going to be cool. And the weight should be perfect through spring-summer for you.
When you want something you dont mess around..good on you man.
Shaking your head ha--its sad right?
im thinking a pair of their sweatpants will probably outlast me.
The softness is like Charmin! -
@Dmart oh right that! just messin with you. ive watched more than I care to count at this point and its always a good time...the "running community" here in Berlin are pretty intense and the city embraces them.
if I wasn't getting ready to fly to the states I would suggest meeting up----maybe next time.
Try and snag that Merz Tee and enjoy your weekend! -
@dinobarnesberlin sometimes to a fault but I get over it!

Another 14oz shirt came today. I love the "nature" color. Feels great just like my last one but a tad larger though both are 8/XXL. Within an hour of wearing it I splattered daffodil crud onto it while draining a few vases into the sink. Oh well, maybe it'll wash out.
A 7oz "purple blue" one I ordered a day or two after has still yet to ship.

Received a "purple blue" (the art teacher in me wishes it was proper and reversed) 7oz shirt today. It fits a tad big which is no bother but I will try and see what a hot wash/dryer session will do. Softer than their 14oz tshirts and less textured, I think will be great for hot temps. The tag states the shirt will lose dye due to washing and sunlight exposure. I am intrigued to see how it evolves and will keep this in mind when chosing my next shirt. Pretty neat brand all around.
The blue UV protector bag was a nice touch. I love that color blue.

Anyone has a idea on how the sizing of the 14oz Merz B is compared to the 1600 tee? I know the fabric is loopwheeled and definitely more slubby then the IH one.
-
@Heavy_blue - my 14oz Merz tee is size Large, while my 1600s are XL. The former is a shorter in length and more boxy than the latter. The Merz is tighter in the chest and shoulders, but my 1600s are deliberately slightly oversized for comfort.
I’ve tried an XL in the Merz before, and it was much too big for me. A tumble dry might’ve fixed that as they do shrink, but I don’t like to play around with margins of error when paying £100 for a tee shirt lol.So for me I go down a size, but i do get a very different fitting T-shirt between the two models. Guess how you go depends on your “key” dimensions.
