Indigo Invitational Y3

@Daniel-San cheers pal… a little surprised I didn’t make it but most of all the actual selection some pairs just looked like you could pick them up off the shelf..
-
From what I’ve seen about Thai and Indonesian faders, it’s not uncommon for them to brush their denim for the fades to pop out more. Which is completely fine, but don’t think it should be allowed in a competition.
Wouldn’t be surprised if this were the case for some of the pairs in the top 10…
-
@Twistlock cheers appreciate it mate …
-
People who sandpaper their jeans are rewarded in this “competition.” It’s so obvious.
-
I prefer everyone’s fades on this site they some how look more natural.
-
Had a look at the top ten, and it’s fair to say my picks would have been quite different.
That said, it’s so subjective, and I agree with the comment that it appears they have tried to represent a variety of different looks.Honestly surprised that @Jcaz6996 pair didn’t make the top 10. All shall be well when you win the Redline Rally though

The Invitational is such a great idea in spirit but there are shenanigans that clearly go on it seems. I wonder how they could improve moving forward? Give prizes out by random draw focusing more on making it the 365 giving more people a chance to feel accomplished? Have a 'sandpaper' category??
@Kasi I'm with you on an IH fade competition. Only IH jeans, judges are the IH crew UK and Japan. Post weekly pics here on the forum or something.
-
@JunkPants cheers mate little disappointed but what can you do … it is what it is I guess..
Enjoying Redline Rally love fading a denim jacket new challenge , can’t wait to see what it’s going to look like in the next 8months..
-
@Salted-Racer I might be in the minority, but I always felt that the vibe of the Iron Heart Forum is totally non-competitive,and that everyone’s jeans fade differently. While I definitely enjoy observing the contest, and totally root for any Forum members competing, not sure the Forum is a place for a fading contest.
-
@Jett129 I do totally agree with that stance. The competition side of Y3 and RR keeps me away from those. If something were to happen on the forum I might advocate for more of a 'challenge' than a 'competition'. I'll admit my IH rotation is pretty deep and I know I'd be cool with a fun and positive challenge to wear the same pair of jeans for a year with some encouragement from fellow participants. No judges, no prizes. Just a thought whether that's something people would even want is another thing of course.
-
If you love your rotation, I wouldn’t call it “fun and positive” to wear the same pair for a long time. It’s more like “sad and hard,” but it’s interesting to see what discipline can help you accomplish, and how perspective can change.

The People's Champs
We've got six more spot prizes to give away, and we want to use this opportunity to recognize the six exceptional faders who made the Top 10 in the popular vote but who didn't end up making it into the winner's circle. All of these pairs (and the faders who produced them) deserve special recognition.( I was Ranked 4th with the people’s vote but wasn’t a favourite with the judges to make the Top 10
But got recognised by the founder Bryan. )Next up is James Casburn, who might be England's best fader. His work on heavy Iron Heart pairs makes it clear why so many top faders reach for IH pairs. We're thanking him with the second bottle opener from Alex.
Love anything hand crafted much appreciated
