I’d like my epitaph to read “Matt Raspa…Pretty Much Only Liked By a Canadian.”

I hope she’s well soon! Lots of love

Dear Giles, I’m sorry for not being in touch for so long, but I am recovering from a total knee replacement which was more complicated than expected. During the surgery, as they were trying to cut out the old bones, one shattered and in the end, a 1 ½ hour surgery took 4 ½ hours. I spent 3 days in the hospital and then was moved to a skilled nursing center for 2 weeks. I am finally home and am slowly getting caught up on e-mails, tele messages, etc. I know I have said this before, but I am so grateful to you and the other members of the forum for all you have done following Mike’s passing. These past 4 months have been extremely difficult especially with my health issues. It’s hard having Alissa and my grandchildren so far away. Except for my brother and a couple nieces and nephews, I rely on my friends for support. What you have done for me and Mike’s memory are unbelievable. I hope you don’t mind me telling you thank you so much, but I just want you to know how grateful I am. Bernadette

I just dropped Alissa a note because I had not heard from Bernadette for a while, and I have funds to send here.
This was the message I received.
*Hi Giles.
She had open heart surgery last month to replace a valve. The operation was successful; but the recovery has been slow. My daughter went out to Pittsburgh for three weeks to try to help; but it has been really difficult not having Michael there to take care of her.
I will let her know that you are asking about her.
Thank you for staying in touch. It means a lotAlissa*

@Anesthetist Thank you for putting the words down on what I was trying to compose in my thoughts.
