IH-526L - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo

As far as I can recall the P2P measurements are quite a bit larger for the new version... Seems XXL is right, for me .. xxxl too large. Otherwise in IH shirts between XL and xxl
-
Sizing question for those with experience with this jacket and how it has shrunk for you in the wash. For reference, an XL 526J-14IB fits me great with 19" shoulders, 22.5" chest, 26" length & sleeves, and a 20" opening. (comparison of sizing charts below)
I'm only interested in the plain indigo 19L and it will eventually see a washing machine. The XL looks to be spot on in the OD version, and knowing that these all start out from the same lot of indigo jackets and that we can expect ~half the shrinkage betweeen the indigo vs OD size charts would you all think asking for the widest L to be the right call? I'm worried that an XL even treated super harshly with scalding hot water and agitation might always look too big. Thoughts here or should I just email the team?
Right now the 14IB layers snuggly for me over a hoodie or UHF and still looks great over a t-shirt.

All I can says I am XL In 19oz indigo Left and XXL in OD in the 19oz left
I went with measurements.
-
To add on; I never seem to get as much shrink from washing (mind you with intentions of shrinking) as what comes from the OD process.
-
Seems to me that they run a little bigger this time
-
Am 5’9”/ 165lbs
-
I got both the OD and regular. The regular is slightly bigger. Longer sleeves and slightly larger p2p. I got both 4xl. I am 6 foot 225 pounds for reference.

Of cause all folks now listing their sizes refer to a previous version with slightly smaller measurements...

This is a good shout for anyone else reading this in the future.
For reference, I was going back to look at the previous sizing chart before the update using the internet archive. Looks to me like this years L is almost identical to the prior run of XL.https://web.archive.org/web/20220818163109/https://www.ironheart.co.uk/jackets/ih-526l.html

Ok how I did it.
My size is XL
I wear size IH large in all my shirts mostly.
If this jacket little big. Lets it be.
I went half inch bigger soak right away.Become that’s fit you want.
As for wearing true to size or sizing up wouldn’t work for me or recommend it.
It’s a hard solid denim. At start can be uncomfortable to wear.
That’s the reason to soak it.
Makes its easier to wear a little. -
As beautiful as all of these jackets are---talking about you @Kasi , and @Jcaz6996 and all of the others---
The one to beat and is still in my opinion one of the absolute Kings of this Lefty jacket is @Twin --and Im surprised that he has been quiet for so long .
His Lefty is just as epic as it gets! -
Thanks @dinobarnesberlin

Chiming in my love for this thread and this great jacket -shout out @dinobarnesberlin for the @twin reference. I lurked over his pics for a good while. Then it seems he passed the baton to @Oaktavia, who, surprise surprise, wore/wearing his to a state of perfection. And now @Kasi and @Jcaz6996 have taken over the important task of high lighting this incredible fabric regardless of heat stroke. Xoxo

Thanks for that

You are sure welcome Kasi— and i didnt mean to leave @Oaktavia out— you are killing it hard just as well!

@dinobarnesberlin yes exactly, @twin is the ultimate Lefty tamer, he has 5+ years on me let alone all of us. His jacket is a thing of absolute beauty. He definitely inspired me entirely to take the Lefty journey and still to this day is my favorite IH peice. I hope he comes back to join us one day. @flannel-slut nice job highlighting the sequence.
